The Patriots lose to inferior opponents too, they just haven't felt a lot of pressure because their division has been bad for so long.

As far as asking players situations, so what, any player can answer situational football questions and I'm not sure that Mike Tomlin doesn't do something similar. The Coaches job is physical preparation such as: Game planning, conditioning, and personnel. The Players job is to show up ready to play, this is the pros, it's what they are paid to do.

I think people make too much out of losses, I don't think it has anything to do with not being ready. I think sometimes the other team plays good and you just get beat.
Bills game,.... is that the one Jacoby Brisset was the starter for NE? 2015, when they had the division wrapped up at the end?

It was a Brisset start but it was in October, but he beat the Texans the week before 27-0. 2015 ya the division was wrapped up but home field advantage was not they finished 12-4 that year. And we can also back another year to 2013 and they lost to the Dolphins and Bills again, with Tom Brady, not only do they lose games to inferior opponents but they seem to do it in their own division.

We can't let it happen here.
Hello Everyone, Very new to this board.

I’d say there are NO BAD teams in the NFL. If there was that much difference between good and so-called bad teams, you would see the 30, 40 and 50 point spreads that you see in college football. Not the 7 point spread you see between the Good Steelers and the Bad Bears.

        Go Steelers!

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Bears expect to have Kyle Long back in lineup this weekend
Posted by Josh Alper on September 22, 2017, 9:04 AM EDT

Bears guard Kyle Long hasn’t played in a game for a long time.

Long last saw game action in Week 10 of last season and was placed on injured reserve a short time later due to an ankle injury. Long would go on to have surgery on the ankle last December and undergo a long rehab period that stretched into training camp. There were additional issues with the ankle during the summer and Long sat out the first two games of this season while waiting to get right.

It looks like he’s finally there. Coach John Fox said Thursday that the team feels Long is ready for the final step in his return to action.

“Our medical people think he’s ready,” Fox said, via the Chicago Sun Times. “Our coaches think he’s ready. We’ll see how much he can endure, whether we have him on any kind of a pitch count. Right now it’s looking very promising.”

The Bears will host the Steleers this weekend as they look for their first win of the 2017 season.

Markus Wheaton hopeful to make his Chicago Bears debut vs. his former team

The Pittsburgh Steelers let Markus Wheaton find a new home this off-season in free agency, and now he could be making his 2017 debut against the team who let him walk.

                by Jeff Hartman
                Sep 22, 2017, 12:50pm EDT

Markus Wheaton’s time in Pittsburgh was anything but smooth. His rookie season was marked by a nasty hand/finger injury, and he struggled to stay on the field in each of his four seasons in the Steel City.

In his final season with the Steelers, Wheaton was placed on injured reserve after injuring his shoulder leading up to the regular season, and he only dressed in three games throughout Pittsburgh’s run to the AFC Championship game.

New year and a new team for Wheaton now with the Chicago Bears, but the same issues followed him to the Windy City. Wheaton, who signed a two-year, $11 million deal with the Bears this off-season, hasn’t seen the field yet due to a myriad of health issues.

                Per the Bears official website:

Wheaton participated in OTAs but underwent an appendectomy July 30 during the first week of training camp. He returned to practice Aug. 13 but promptly broke his pinkie, an injury that required surgery and has sidelined him for more than a month.

It’s at this point when Steelers fans nod sympathetically and say, “Yeah, that sounds about right.” But Wheaton is finally healthy now and ready to make his debut with the Bears, ironically against the Steelers.

For Wheaton, this is likely more about him just getting back onto the field and less about playing against his former team. Wheaton knew the writing was on the wall when he dressed for only three games in 2016 before heading to injured reserve. The Steelers are extremely deep at wide receiver, and players like Antonio Brown would certainly take precedence when new contracts were being handed out.

What do the Bears expect from Wheaton in Week 3?

"We got to see him in the off-season," said coach John Fox to the Bears official website. "He'll be hard to coax to Bourbonnais next year, just the experience he had with the appendicitis and with his finger. We're still in wait-and-see. He was out there last week in a limited basis.”

"He does have good quickness and good speed. He's been a productive receiver in this league. He had 40, 50 catches two years prior to being injured. We're excited to watch him. He looked more involved last week. I think he's got a pretty good grasp of what we're doing which is obviously helpful."

"If [Wheaton] is up and healthy, hopefully he provides that for us," said offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains. "It's a different group of receivers right now. Mike's completion percentage is pretty good right now; he's done a good job of that. Last year we were really good; I think we were in the top 10 in explosive passes. But right now that's an area we could improve on."

"We're hoping it creates more three-level throws," Loggains said. "There is an element of speed that comes with Markus. That is his strength and I'm hoping that he adds that kind of value to our offense."

"It's going to be interesting because Mike didn't have much time with him in OTAs and in training camp when he was up he was going with Mitchell [Trubisky] more because of Kevin and Cam [playing with Glennon]," Loggains said. "We've got to get those guys on the same page quickly. He's a guy that's played in the NFL and had production. That's a big thing for us right now."

The Bears have been decimated by injury at the receiver position, and Wheaton’s return would certainly help the Bears and Glennon in the game Sunday vs. Pittsburgh. Steelers fans know what Wheaton can do if healthy, they just hope he waits until Week 4 to show the Bears his full potential.

T.J. Watt is holding out hope he can play Sunday vs. Bears, wants to see how groin reacts over weekend. Wants to be smart about injury without re-aggravating it.

how the hell is Wheaton still injured after only dressing 3 games in 2016?

and how the hell do you sign with a new team after only dressing for 3 games?

seems like a team is better off going with a rookie instead of betting on a guy like Wheaton.
