I'm disappointed! Apparently they weren't too worried about his future development if the let him go to a div rival for so little. OTOH, he was sort of a one trick pony, the deep ball. And they must not be worried about their ability to defend thatComment

I remember hearing that the coaching staff was a little disappointed in Coates after the Carolina game after a somewhat low throw was not caught by Coates. He didn't even try to get it. I think that kinda sealed his doom.Comment

I saw that play and thought the same thing. The guy has no fight for the ball. If it ain't in his breadbasket, he probably doesn't make the catch.Comment

coates vs haden week 1 holds some extra entertainment value
depending on who they keep i would prefer coates to dhb, but i guess he offered 0 in trade value where coates at least offered you somethingLast edited by Eddie Spaghetti; 09-02-2017, 04:12 PM.Comment

Love the creativity in moving guys that were not going to make it on our team. Getting some late round picks is nice.Comment

It would seem that is the case, even with Hunter. I would suspect that all Hunter, Coates, and DHB all brought their skill-sets to the table and were comparable. What made Coates expendable is that, compared to the other guys, he had some perceived upside.I wasn't hired for my disposition.Comment

If Hunter were released, he would have been claimed. He has like 12 TD's in 40 games, so he does have some experience.Comment
