Who in this thread has ever said that we should be looking at Conner as a feature back? I think the consensus has been to look at him as a back up/depth for Bell and possible goal line back. We have our feature back, but from my view Conner can be an excellent complement to him.

no one said he was going to be a feature RB. We are talking about a compliment to Bell who gets a few touches a game and can finish off a game once we have a nice lead and want to burn clock.

lmao... I guess this is how Shawn "wins" a debate. Claim you watched a lot of film on a RB last year after mistakenly thinking he missed all of last year and then spin it into a feature back discussion.

Easy enough to make comments from the peanut gallery. Name the last running back I missed an evaluation on. That's right. I can't remember either. When was the last time you put yourself out there on an evaluation of a college player? Never. So forgive me if I take your little jabs with a grain of salt. I put out evals every year for fans such as yourself to critique. Do I get them all right? Certainly not, but I'm more right than wrong. I think you would even agree with that.

Then we agree. He can be a situational back, a guy who spells Bell. Shoot, he even has some curious upside if he drops weight. Is that worth a 4th round pick? I don't know but in the 4th round if you want a situational power back then Samaje Perine is the better back. At least he uses his hands instead of his body to catch balls.

haha.. the only one I remember you getting right is Bell. I have no idea who else you evaluated. Its hilarious how serious you take your evaluation skills.

You said Conner missed all of last year yet you say you watched him a ton last year. It's ok if you didn't. I know you spend more time watching Big Ten games. On Conner you keep moving the goal post for no reason. No one on here said a word about him being a feature back. Most people want him late as a complimentary.

OH... BUT I KNOW ONE GUY YOU MISSED ON!!! LMAO

yup.. and I think Conner has the discipline to do whatever coaches ask him to do. I think he would be better at his current weight though because he isn't elusive, he is one cut and go.

Perine is fine but he only had 10 receptions this year.

Dam% when did Bryant become a running back? Even with WRs I'm batting at least 800. Steeler scouts miss too. How many have you gotten right? Oh yeah. Zero.

At least Perine does it with proper form. Conner is a terrific college player and will make an NFL roster. That's not in question. I want to draft complete backs even in the 4th...guys who have a high ceiling. Conner and Perine are both hammers without wiggle or speed. That doesn't play well outside of situational play in todays NFL. It's like drafting a traditional thumper ILB.

I take scouting seriously? No more seriously than you take being a fan of the Steelers. I do dislike jabs and disrespect and that's what I take issue with. To each their own...many people love criticizing others but take no chances themselves. I would LOVE to see your ideas and scouting break downs rather than just a critique of others. And btw, we have this same conversation every offseason.

BTW-Mixon is my pick for this year. He will be the best value pick in the draft. You went on record as saying you wouldn't draft him.

Perine is a guy that the Raiders have their eye on too. Just saying..............

Perine runs with more power than Conner but has less wiggle. I wouldn't draft either personally but if I had to pick I would take Perine.

I like the evaluations I see on here. But a few things that can be missed and should not be. AB is a good example. Tape, medical, athletic scores and character are needed for evaluations. The one that has no metric is HEART. Conner has a ton. So grade that accordingly. Every team, scout, media and fan will grade all that differently IMO. Yes even look at what Bell has done. So if a players metric's are close to another player and character is good for both. Dig deeper and look for which player has the want to be great and the heart. Hell Villy is another. JH has it. Most of the "great" players have it. And because of Conners past experiences he has shown he has at least heart and work ethic. Plus that nasty stiff arm!
4th rd sign me up. Hell I would even go 3b! And no I am not a Pitt fan. I don't watch much college ball at all. Few games here and there. Just going off combine/draft info. Really like players who over come hard times. Even Ward is another.

I'll let the locals grade Conners heart. I will say that I love players who love football and crave to win. That certainly should play a role in evaluations.

Conner was a monster before his injury and cancer. He came back and played good ball.

This is why I think he would be a perfect compliment. The guy is a monster and his stiff arm is nasty.
