Yeah he's worth it. I may have to re-do my mock once again. I really like Takk.

      .

I was originally hoping that Malik Hooker's surgeries might possibly drop him from a top 10 guy to an early 20's guy where we could trade up for him, but that's likely pure fantasy. However, maybe Takk's post-combine surgery might drop him from a top 25 type of guy down to us at 30. His relentless motor combined with natural athleticism is what we should be looking for from our edge rushers. He needs some hand work to further develop his array of pass rush moves, but Tunch and Wolf offer some boxing training and hand work clinics to Steeler o-linemen in the offseason, and they occasionally invite other positions as well if it could be deemed useful. He could learn some tricks of the trade from Peezy and Deebo as well. Perhaps Bud and Takk could develop into our version of Justin Houston and Tamba Hali, for instance.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Hooker dropping past 15 is a pipe dream. He could take a squat during combine, run the 40 naked and still get drafted top 10. IMO, he is the best Buckeye player in the history of Buckeye players with a possible exception being Orlando Pace. But, I would have loved for him to drop to 20. I think the Steelers would forget about the rest of the draft and put together a package to grab him. He is the truth.

Jones of N C State checking a few boxes n if we go edge rusher n corner a S would be in play in the 3rd. He needs to get off blocks better but his backpeddle is smooth n he looks very fluid today at Indi.

[QUOTE=Iron City Inc.;688478]That Reddick kid from Temple who you have in your signature is having a terrific combine.[/QUOTE

Yup I may need to put Takk back at 1. Reddick is likely a top 20 pick now. I know one thing. There will be a quality pass rusher there at 1/30.

I think after the LB skills drills there are enough defensive coords out there who are drooling over Peppers that you may not even be able to get him at #30. He will probably do even better with DB drills

Do you take an injured Takk (hoping he recovers on schedule) or a healthy Reddick or Charles Harris. I'll take one of the latter two

I don't understand the fascination with Haason Reddick (for us). Dude was a DE in college, but way too small to play that in the pros. Physically, he's similar to Ryan Shazier. He would need to bulk up to be an edge rusher at this level, or you could utilize that speed and athleticism inside next to Shazier, but that's not a position he's familiar with yet (Temple's tackle machine Mike backer was our 2016 7th round pick. Tyler Matakevich).

That is why I would take Charles Harris. I have the same concerns about Reddick getting strong enough. Could take a couple of years.

I'd like Reddick as an ILB to replace Timmons. Combined with Shazier, that's a ton of speed inside. Nice player, would make for a dynamic combo eventually, but does nothing to help with the need for an outside pass rush.

I'd prefer Charles Harris or Rivers. Takk scares me a bit b/c of the torn labrum. If it was a more "minor" surgery, I wouldn't be as concerned, but that seems like the kind of thing that could limit him.

An injured Takk every day of the week. I believe him to be a top 15 talent. Both the guys you listed IMO are bubble first round guys.

"Bubble" guys who are healthy and will be able to play versus Takk who you really won't know about. No idea how he will recover from surgery on a shoulder which can be more problematic than a knee.

IMO Takk falls out of the 1st round

I don't think Takk's shoulder will be much of an issue. He said he played with it for two years and didn't know anything was wrong.His.agent asked about his health, and Takk told him his shoulder bothers him once in awhile. They set up a MRI and that''s when the problem was discovered.

Not sure Harris or McKinlay are good in coverage, which the OLB will be asked to do.

                                T.J. Watt, however, can.
