Don't worry as soon as another big name WR gets a contract AB will not be the highest paid. Might be the kid on the Texans Hopkins. There are always teams that truly over pay like for Wallace. I don't see AB being over paid. That will go to the next WR that wants a bigger deal then AB. Maybe OBJ but not sure when his deal needs done. This is another reason the deal was done so fast. Oh I forgot Jeffrey. He was already at around 14mil.

Our history is that we've won with great (legendary) defensive players and had serviceable to good offensive players. I"m more comfortable giving big, over the top money to defense then to offensive players. That has won us championships.

This new way of paying the big, over the top money to offense feels awkward. And I don't know if it will translate to championships. I think this is not only awkward to me but to a lot of Steeler fans who are more comfortable the old way.

FYI, Browns cap hit is nearly as much as any TWO Pat skill players COMBINED.

I do not believe they have EVER had a 10 mil cap hit for an offensive skill player not named Brady.

Steelers re-sign QB Landry Jones (2 years): F Grade
I haven't found any financial details on this contract yet, but I don't care. This deal could be for two years, three cents, and it wouldn't change anything. It's awful, and it fully deserves to be graded poorly.

I don't understand why the Steelers continue to insist that Landry Jones is a viable No. 2 quarterback. He's one of the worst backups in the NFL. He was 25th in my 2017 NFL Free Agent Quarterbacks (http://walterfootball.com/freeagents2017QB.php), listed below Vince Young and Josh Freeman, both of whom are out of the league. Jones is so bad that the Steelers have become an automatic fade in the preseason; they're 3-14 in their past four Augusts!

This is an "F." I'm not even willing to figure out a Millen grade for this. It's just bad and embarrassing that Jones continues to be named a No. 2 quarterback, and the Steelers should be ashamed of themselves.
