I wish they'd let Mettenberger be the #2 also. He has skills. His lack of prep work is what gets him cut. He's probably on his last chance. Maybe he'll realize it and work.

I don't know what that means but I wouldn't lose sleep if we let Landry get paid elsewhere.

I also will be entertained by all the praise he will receive in preseason just because he isn't Landry.

Bob Pompeani on Bruce Gradkowski last season:

"Look for big things from Gradkowski this season".

I about fell out of my chair.

Won't speak for Shawn, I would. Wouldn't hesitate to keep a QB who knows the players and system with a reasonable contract

No kidding. Landry Jones will never be more than a decent back up. But, he has a live arm and I've seen him play well enough in games.

Landry Jones has a live arm? When?

He has a pop gun arm. He makes Philip Rivers' arm look like Charles Atlas.

I would bring him back unless a reasonable failed starter gets thrown on the scrap heap and was willing to back up a team with SB aspirations.

I see no value in drafting a mid / late round QB. I'd rather have a terrible year under Landry after Ben retires so that we're drafting early to get a QB replacement.

Per your eye? The knock on Jones was never his arm strength.

i thought landry was so good that by year 3 he was going to be our starter and ben would be traded for multiple draft picks

at no time when I I've watched Landry Jones play QB have the words live arm popped into my thoughts

enjoy your posts Shawn, but you have always over popped for this guy

sign him, don't sign him I don't really care. if Ben goes down for any length we will struggle to win games as any other team will except the pats

Didn't we go 3-1 when Ben missed the first 4 games of the season during his suspension? I remember the board saying we would be lucky to go 1-3 without Ben.

Newsflash Steeler fans, while we struggle to beat the Pats we are probably the next best franchise in the NFL when it comes to depth and playing without our franchise QB. We may not win every game without Ben but we are always competitive.

We we need to stop acting like we are the Colts once Peyton went down.

We used to be a team about depth; but we just dumped a bunch of money to a WR and RB because we have so much "depth". When have the Patriots ever did that? LOL
                              Just saying............

What we did with Bell and Brown is not traditional "Steeler" way of handling of finances.
