I've had time to settle down and instead of blaming it on the coaches, I've now turned my attention to the players. They were out of position, easily fooled by Brady who simply looked them off and no pass rush.

The rookies were not ready at all. Example was the flea flicker, Davis may have been able to sack Brady as he was in the backfield but decided to turn around after he realized it was pass and tried to cover a RB that was 15 yards away...Mike Mitchell is almost a bum but makes plays sometimes.

Brady is a God and could read a defense after having his wisdom teeth pulled and still high on the juice. Maybe the coaches should have abandoned xzone after the first half debacle, but who cares.

This offense should have everyone excited until something happens to one or two of the key 11.

I know there are many would have should have could haves...but in reality the Steelers were in that game minus a couple bone headed moves. I will criticize Haley for not QB sneaking on the half hard line. I will criticize Butler for coming out with an uninspired defensive game plan. With that said, this loss fell on a lack of execution...period plain a simple. And not having Bell didn't help.

I know I'm crazy and all but we have Bryant, Bell and Green in that game...we win.

Totally different story with those 3 in the game. Our Offense would have had the ball a lot more giving the D a chance to rest and a chance to be coached. However, the Pats* were without some players too, but not as significant as those 3....

I don't even think the Pats stop the Steelers with Bell, Bryant, and Green.

            Woulda coulda shudda.

Then they** say if Gronk wasn't injured we wouldn't have been in the game. It works both ways.

Injuries aside, we lost because the coaches drew up a vanilla high school level defense, and we fielded two (?) rookies against a SB-level offense. Now maybe the D plan was forced by the skill level of our defensive players, I don't know and that's a different discussion, but saying we would have won "if only..." is just California dreaming IMO.

Really? Seems like every year we say IF we had all our players we beat a team who also had injuries and is missing key players.

You you go to battle with the team you have. No excuses. We were in that game and make the same mistakes and RZ miscues we always make.

As much as I want to blame the coaches it's on the players. It's 1st and goal and our OL whiffed. It's like they thought the Pats would lay down. For the record I saw the Texans make a GL stand on the Pats a week prior so it happens to the best of them but it seems to happen more often with our high powered offense.

But that's the problem. People think this offense is high powered.

It isn't, and it never was.

I would have gladly given them Gronk if we could have had Bryant, Bell, and Green....

I appreciate those that are trying to put a positive spin on the loss to NE, but it's tough to see any. In NE's wins against the Steelers their average margin of victory has been a full 2 TDs. Those are not close games. There is a reason why execution is a repeated topic, because the Steelers are not often prepared for NE and it looks it. This is equal part coaching and equal part players. NE is the better team with Brady as QB, just like Roethlisberger dominates Ohio teams. The Steelers don't seem close to solving this puzzle while Brady is playing which means Roethlisberger's remaining career will rely on someone else knocking them off in the playoffs in order for him to reach another SB. Just maybe this is part of his current frustrations.

Two sources have reported he's fed up with Haley. They also apparently disagreed with the game plan on Christmas.

When Toddy's pets sat in the 4th quarter with their season on the line? Ben and his WR's scored 21 points.

I'll trust Ben's football smarts over a golf coach.

                      Just sayin'.

Give Ben Brady's system and the commitment from the FO that Brady has.

Saddle Brady with Todd Haley and his tricks, and LeBeau and Butler.

If Haley allows him to audible.

He didn't let Ben in 2012.

Do you think Ben doesn't have permission to audible now, in 2016, 2015? Trust needs to be established and it has been. BB has more pressing needs these days then football.

Brady was asked before this SB win if he plans to retire if won and he replied, hell no! No one asked Ben but it's now in the equation.

I love Ben, but his competitive drive is not that of SB 43, present day. I'm worried about what becomes of the Steelers when Ben does retire. Landry Jones, Zach Mettenberger?

Do you think Ben now has the same desire and competitive spirit of 28 yo Ben?
