Landry Jones needs to go out and play ball and stop trying to pussyfoot passes.

He said before he went out and played things safe and that made him ineffective.
I'm not saying he will ever be a gun slinger but come on man. Play like you belong out there. Have some fun. Stop trying to throw a 'touch pass' on every throw.

His performance will allow him another training camp but he hasn't done anything to gain confidence that he could be the guy to take us on a 6 game winning stretch if called upon.

Landry's 3 and outs put our defense on the field far more than we wanted them to be out there.

lol...6 game winning streaks are rare. Landry isn't a franchise QB and I think everyone knows it but a select few fans who keep bashing him like we sold the farm to get him.

Ben also throws a lot of WTF passes for her the course of a season that puts pressure on our D. Great player but let's not act like he doesn't play Ugly ball at times.

Pretty sure Ben has a great record vs the Clowns home AND away.

                      You mean more of this?

                      115 wins
                      64.1% completion percentage
                      43,554 passing yards
                      278 touchdown passes
                      94.0 quarterback rating
                      15 rushing touchdowns
                      11 postseason wins
                      2 Super Bowl titles
And a lock for the HOF

How much longer will Steeler fans have to deal with such mediocrity?

Yeah. I can't think of any backup QB's who can lead their team's on 6 game winning streaks (and probably only a handful of starting QB's).
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Ben did in 2004. Dak did it this year.
You just dont tend to "remain" the backup after a long win streak.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

Landry... 24 of 37 for 275 and 3TD's... and a really bad INT.

Not bad. I think we keep him until Ben retires.

And then what? Find 2 QBs including a starter?

No, a year or 2 before Ben retires we try to find a franchise QB. I didn't mean to literally wait for Ben's announcement to find another starting QB.

Back up QB's are easy to find... there are 20 of them every offseason. Teams don't keep 2 starting QB's on the roster unless it's by accident or by Favre.
