Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Vontae Davis, Clayton Geathers don’t practice Tuesday
Posted by Josh Alper on November 22, 2016, 4:14 PM EST

The Colts are likely going to be without quarterback Andrew Luck on Thursday night against the Steelers and they could also be shorthanded in the secondary.

Cornerback Vontae Davis and safety Clayton Geathers were both out of practice on Tuesday. Davis has been dealing with an ankle injury and was seen in a protective boot on Monday, but was able to play the entire game against the Titans last Sunday.

Geathers reported concussion symptoms after the Titans game and has joined Luck in the concussion protocol. The short week won’t do him any favors in terms of being cleared in time to play on Thursday, so rookie T.J. Green may be pressed into a bigger role.

Cornerback Frankie Williams also didn’t practice and is listed as out for non-football reasons. Cornerback Rashaan Melvin was listed as a non-participant on Monday, but worked in full on Tuesday.

        Colts officially rule Luck out
Posted by Zac Jackson on November 23, 2016, 3:25 PM EST

The Colts have listed Andrew Luck as out for Thursday night’s game vs. the Steelers due to a concussion.

Luck showed symptoms of a concussion on Monday and entered the league’s concussion protocol. He wasn’t able to participate in the team’s abbreviated practices this week, and the release of Wednesday’s injury report ended any remaining suspense about his status for this week.

Scott Tolzien will make his first start for the Colts and his first in three years. Tolzien started two games for the Packers in 2013.

Earlier Wednesday, the Colts promoted quarterback Stephen Morris from the practice squad to be Tolzien’s backup.

Andrew Luck Will Not Play Versus Steelers
          Posted 50 minutes ago

          Colts.com Writer

Intro: On Wednesday afternoon, the Colts announced the final injury report of the week. Andrew Luck (concussion) has been ruled OUT for the Thanksgiving night game against the Steelers.

INDIANAPOLIS – The Colts have ruled Andrew Luck OUT for Thursday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Luck did not practice all week after suffering a concussion in Sunday’s win over the Titans.

With Luck out, the Colts have healthy quarterbacks Scott Tolzien and Stephen Morris on the active roster.

After Thursday, the Colts will not play a game until Monday, Dec. 5, giving Luck extended rest to make it through the concussion protocol.

Here is the rest of the injury report going into Thursday night’s game with the Steelers:

          INJURY STATUS FOR WEEK 12

•OUT: S-Clayton Geathers (concussion): The Colts missing Geathers on Thursday night is major, major news. Geathers allows the Colts to do several different things defensively. Will the absence of Geathers hinder what the Colts would ideally like to do against Pittsburgh’s potent passing attack?

•OUT: QB-Andrew Luck (concussion): Luck did not practice all week and is OUT. This article details a little more what the quarterback situation now looks like. Scott Tolzien and Stephen Morris are the healthy quarterbacks for Thursday night.

•QUESTIONABLE: CB-Vontae Davis (ankle): Davis was a in a walking boot on Monday and Tuesday. He’s questionable for Thursday. Davis was listed as limited for Wednesday’s final “practice.” Last week Davis was a late addition to the injury report, but still played against the Titans. Having Davis is obviously a critical element to the Colts trying to slow down Ben Roethlisberger and company.

•QUESTIONABLE: CB-Donte Moncrief (hamstring): Moncrief was a new addition to the injury report. He was limited at Wednesday’s “practice.”

          FINAL INJURY REPORT

Here is Wednesday’s injury report, a final walk-through practice:

-DNP: S-Clayton Geathers (concussion), QB-Andrew Luck (concussion)

-LIMITED: CB-Vontae Davis (ankle), WR-Donte Moncrief (hamstring)

-FULL: DT-Arthur Jones (knee/ankle), OLB-Robert Mathis (rest), CB-Rashaan Melvin (back), CB-Patrick Robinson (groin)

          ROSTER MOVES

The Colts made several roster moves on Wednesday. The big one came when they elevated quarterback Stephen Morris to the active roster. To make room for Morris on the 53-man roster, the Colts waived wide receiver Devin Street.

Also on Wednesday, the Colts brought back cornerback Darryl Morris to the active roster and placed undrafted cornerback Frankie Williams on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list. Morris played in six games for the Colts earlier this season.

            Thanks for the updates, Ruth.

I feel badly for Luck, don't wish that on anyone.

At the end of the season, only the W-L record will matter, but I wish that we would have beat them with Luck playing.

Anyway - I hope we are FIRED UP tomorrow night. In my mind the ideal game is falling behind early, then clawing back and winning with some hard-nosed playing.

But I'll take a win any which way it comes!

We got our "6-PACK" - time to work on a CASE!

HERE WE GO STEELERS, HERE WE GO!

As expected, Andrew Luck is out

Three years to the day after quarterback Scott Tolzien made his last NFL start, he’s starting again.

Colts quarterback Andrew Luck officially is out with a concussion for Thursday night’s game against the Steelers.

Also inactive for the home team are safety Clayton Geathers, linebacker Deon King, offensive lineman Le’Raven Clark, offensive lineman Austin Blythe, linebacker Curt Maggitt, and defensive lineman Zach Kerr.

Inactive for the Steelers are receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey, running back DeAngelo Williams, tight end Xavier Grimble, safety Shamarko Thomas, quarterback Zach Mettenberger, tackle Brian Mihalik, and running back Daryl Richardson.

Tolzien started for the Packers in a November 24, 2013 game against the Vikings. The Packers fell behind 23-7, Tolzien was benched for Matt Flynn, the Packers tied it up, and the game ended in a tie.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
