The media is so gullible it is laughable.

If Roethlisberger told a reporter... 'yea, me and Tomlin really got into it post game... swings were thrown even' ... I would bet reporters would report it as truth.

There is zero accountability in the media these days.... publish whatever gets clicks...

Mike Tomlin says Steelers issues have been “popcorn”
Posted by Josh Alper on November 16, 2016, 7:19 AM EST

After the Steelers lost to the Cowboys last Sunday, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said the team was “undisciplined and not accountable” and repeated that critique during his Tuesday radio show on 93.7 The Fan.

Roethlisberger said “you see undisciplined play, undisciplined actions in plays” and repeated the need for everyone to “take a look at themselves” when it comes to finding ways to get better results. During his Tuesday press conference, coach Mike Tomlin said that he has seen things having to do with attention to detail that need to be corrected on the field but that things aren’t as “downtrodden” as they may seem.

As a result, Tomlin’s not looking to make sweeping changes to the team at this point in the season.

“We’re open to doing things differently but we also believe in the way that we do things,” Tomlin said, via ESPN.com. “If I thought the incidents were running rampant, then I would respond accordingly. It’s been popcorn. It’s a global thing.”

Tomlin said “popcorn” refers to a splattering of small issues affecting the team that can be cleaned up, although it’s clear that the weight of that popcorn has been too much for the Steelers to handle during their four-game losing streak. Should that continue all the way through the end of the season, it might be time to get popcorn ready to watch for bigger changes than seem to be in the works right now.

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Say what you want, but there was a method to LeBeau's madness in not playing rookies. And it's exactly what is on display right now (at least defensively). There are so many young players on the field at one time now that the errors are compounding. It's one thing to have a veteran group cover for a single rookie making a mistake, but it's near impossible to cover for multiple inexperienced guys mistakes. For every penalty called there are probably 2 or 3 others on a given play that could be called. Note the missed facemask on Gay but Davis was caught.

On the other side of the ball... not sure who to point the finger at but I would suggest the OL is not playing anywhere near how they were last season (with Pouncey out).

This tells me there is a disconnect between HC and QB.

I thought the OL was good enough to win. The D is crappy but that's what happens when you hold onto vets way past their prime because you don't trust the young kids.

Once those guys leave you have to play the young kids and swallow the ugly losses until they get it right.

The quest for #7 from 2012 is still having an effect on our defense.

              Casey
              Townsend
              Ike
              Troy
              Farrior
              Foote
              Haggans
              A. Smith

no quick fix for replacing all those guys

Point taken, although Townsend hasn't been a Steeler since 2009 and Haggans hasn't been a Steeler since 2007.

Four years is plenty long enough to see some flash from young players. Somehow the Steelers have slipped in their draft evaluation because there are clear holes from back then that still look like holes now. (or coaches can't coach)
