Except most of his hits are happening in the pocket.

As as an adult you should get your facts straight before calling someone else a whiny a$$.

    What the hell is nerf-ism?

because his complaints seem to only surface when he loses.
pretty sure these hits come in games they have won
, but he's silent then. It's a pattern with him and a way to deflect.
His complaints were after a win.

Seriously, WTF are you guys smoking? lol...

geez, this is why some people think the Cam hate comes from somewhere else.

You guys aren't using facts to support your argument.

Report: Goodell will speak with Cam, NFL will review hits

Posted by Michael David Smith on October 31, 2016, 8:47 PM EDT
Panthers coach Ron Rivera said today that he had talked to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/10/31/ron-rivera-has-cam-newtons-back-says-he-gets-treated-like-shaq/) about the team’s concerns that Cam Newton (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/6491/cam-newton) is not getting the kind of protection from the referees that other quarterbacks get. Goodell apparently took that complaint seriously.

According to Ed Werder of ESPN, Goodell promised Rivera that he will talk to Newton directly to hear the reigning MVP’s concerns. Goodell also promised that the league will review hits on Newton to determine whether he’s not getting enough protection.
The league routinely reviews every hit on quarterbacks, so that’s not particularly noteworthy. But it is noteworthy that Goodell has promised to address concerns personally with a player.
Newton said after Sunday’s game that he can’t feel safe (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/10/30/cam-newton-wants-to-talk-to-roger-goodell-about-horsecrap-hits/) if the officials don’t do a better job of protecting him. Perhaps Goodell can say something to give Newton some peace of mind.

Bringing the complaints up in a presser is a poor way to deal with this. If he has a grievance go to the union and ask them to approach the league. There is a process for these things. A few weeks ago the Steelers mentioned a tape was sent to the league on a hit Roethlisberger sustained. Roethlisberger never mentioned it publicly or only as a sidebar.

agreed. If There's a problem. Then he needs to have his coach express it to the game day ref or the league office
I think florio mentioned the league reviewed tapes and found 11 qbs with more missed roughing the passer calls then cam had

NFL fines AZ defender 18k for low hit on Cam.

But he made all this up and complained after a loss.

This reminds me of fans ripping Brady for cursing out his OL in public during a game.

                  "Ben would never do that"

Whts it's even crazier is Ben takes the same type of hits and we all complain about the lack of calls yet somehow Ben is a hero for not speaking on it and continuing to take punishment that should warrant a flag.

Reminds me of politics. People voting and arguing against their own interest just because the person is on another team. This should be applauded and hopefully Ben gets a few calls moving forward when he is hit low or hit late.

Cmon man... if this was Brady or Rodgers getting hit on the pocket like this players would be fined and suspended and the refs would walk them down the field.

I could see if this was Cam getting hit while running but these are blatant late hits and head shots in the pocket or when he is in the pocket or has released the ball.

The NFL can't scream about player safety but have a different set of rules for QB's just because they are big as hell.

                      This.

My only issue is, where is Cam's coach on this matter? Where are the Panthers' team officials? Where is the players' union, which supposedly is there to watch out for the players' welfare? It doesn't seem to me that Cam should be the one who has to go to the league with this problem. All the folks who should be looking out for him, have they dropped the ball?

Ron Rivera is soft spoken and goes through the proper channels. The Panthers owner loves the NFL brass so much he puts the shield on the 50 yard line instead of the Panther logo. His teammates have been very vocal about Cams treatment by officials. Cam has also tried to play it safe this yesr by saying racism doesnt exist and he isnt treated differently due to race (which is a 180 frok last year before the SB).

All that good will did nothing for him against Denver in the first game where we saw him get hit in the helmet at least 3 times in the pocket and the flag was never thrown.

THe reason I know all of this is because I live in Charlotte and see most of their games (unless we are playing at the same time).

I bet fake money the Panthers pushed for this meeting.

Not really. Just a few years ago Rodgers was rated as the most hit QB in the NFL. Nary a peep from the guy that he wasn't being protected. Favre had the snot beat out of him in a playoff game a few years back but didn't hear boo from him after the game. Roethlisberger had his freaking nose broken without a call.

... there are plenty of 'missed' or no calls on QB hits all around the league.

No hate for Cam. In fact, I think he is a good NFL QB. There is an old saying "keep your fears to yourself, but share your courage with others"--Robert Louis Stevenson.

Cam isn't complaining about getting hit. He is complaining about late hits that aren't being called. When Cam first entered the league the OL sucked and he was hit a ton. No complaints.

Aaron Rodgers said this about Bosch a few years back about Bosch

“He likes to lay on people,” Rodgers said of Vanden Bosch. “If you have a camera on him the entire game — and we watch the film — he is late getting to a lot of plays, and he just lays on guys and stays on there. He probably did that at least a half-dozen times (Thursday).”

Vanden Bosch was penalized in the game for the late hit that Rodgers claims marked up his chin.

its real easy to say these guys don't complain but google is our friend

is there some rule where lol QB's have to be like Favre or they are wimps and whiners?

and yes, Ben doesn't complain in pressers about late hits but damn sure makes sure the media knows about every injury and our OP has no problem telling us how Ben told him he was hit or kicked or pinched in the pile.

If if someone asked him about being hit late and it was blatant I would prefer Ben speak on it then play tough guy and continue to not get calls and miss games.
