Like Dick LeBeau, Mike Munchak has already been there and done that, and should realize that he is best suited as a hands-on teacher working with players as opposed to the vast CEO-like duties required of an NFL coach. He's also an immensely loyal guy, as he remained in one organization for over 30 years from when the Houston Oilers drafted him with a top 10 pick in 1982 until he was relieved of his head coaching duties with the Tennessee Titans in 2013. It also helps that Pittsburgh is within a reasonable driving distance of his boyhood hometown of Scranton, PA and his alma mater Penn State, plus also his most recent home in Tennessee where he resided ever since the Oilers moved there from Houston in 1997. I can't imagine him wanting to go anywhere else for the remainder of his coaching career. And squid is right about him deserving a pay raise.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

      Top defensive grades:

      LB James Harrison, 80.2

      CB William Gary, 79.9

      LB Vince Williams, 78.3

      LB Anthony Chickillo, 76.8

      CB Artie Burns, 75.8

      Steelers’ pass-rush troubles Fitzpatrick

James Harrison did his damage from the left side of the offensive formation, finishing with three quarterback pressures. Arthur Moats had one sack and three hurries on only 14 pass-rushing snaps. William Gay led the way in the secondary, yielding only one reception for 10 yards on two targets.
Shocking that Jarvis Jones didn't have a top defensive ranking....just kidding. Never would expect to see that but I'm sure he was "stout against the run"

Realization or not, we all have aspirations. And we all like money. If they come knocking (for HC jobs), I doubt he would turn them down... not when it comes with that much of a pay jump. But I don't think he'll get a lot of interest anymore.

The NFL is a bit of a coaching carousel, yes. But he's in a weird position, as a former great player with high coaching experience. He is an experienced HC, but he was quite unsuccessful. And he is at an age they prefer not to hire; they prefer to hire younger hot-shots. I mean, look at a guy like Russ Grimm. Or Singletary. Or Mike Tice. These guys are of a similar age and/or pedigree to Munchak. Like Munchak, their window for HC jobs was in the 2000s. At this point in their lives, teams do not look at them as HC material anymore.
I wasn't hired for my disposition.

          Steelers re-sign OL Chris Hubbard

An offensive lineman who can play center, guard and tackle tends to have value as an NFL backup.

On Friday, Chris Hubbard cashed in on his.

The versatile Steelers blocker signed his one-year, $1.797 million tender as a restricted free agent. His contract is for the original-round tender amount. Things get interesting from a financial standpoint now, as he has the chance in 2017 to elevate his worth so he can cash in as an unrestricted free agent next year.

Hubbard saw the most playing time of his career in 2016.

He took 325 offensive snaps while appearing across the line. He started at right tackle in Weeks 4, 5 and 6.
