I've seen "injury prone" players thru my years of "spectacating"
However....this guy has an issue almost every game. The last 2 weeks he's played he came off the field with something wrong.
    Shoulder, knee..........

You must not remember Polamalu, who has a good chance of making the HOF despite being "injury prone". He still managed to play a lot longer than Gale Sayers, who IS in the HOF.

Anyway, with Shazier "officially ruled injury prone", let's just cut him.

He tackles wrong. If he tackled with his shoulder instead of throwing people over his legs he'd be fine.

Who tackles wrong? Shazier? Is that how his knee injury occurred? By "throwing people over his legs"? Wasn't aware of that. Polamalu often didn't tackle right either. You'd think as much a student of the game he was, he'd have modeled himself after Jack Ham for form tackling. But he often would hit with the shoulder and not wrap up.

I will grant this: Shazier and Polamalu both play(ed) ballsout. Those types tend to get dinged more often because they're always hunting for the contact. Same with that little safety that used to play for the Colts ( can't recall the name). He'd hit like a missile but was often hurt.

Should they have been less aggressive? How can you ask a player to do that?

Dude, just because you're on the losing side of an argument, no need to go full straw-man on us. No one is saying we should cut the guy, or even that he isn't a very good player when he's healthy. I say losing side, because if you're trying to convince us that Shazier is not fragile, that he's just another football player like everyone else... I don't see a way to win that argument.

You do make a good point about Sanders and Polamalu. Shazier is probably a combination of both guys. As for him dialing it down, you're right: you can't do that. What he has to realize is that he is a china-doll, and adjust things to try and compensate. e.g. Remember Polamalu going to work out with Marinovich, in an effort to minimize his injury-proneness? The thing that the team is going to have to weigh when it comes to contract time (i.e. marriage time), is whether they want to commit to him. If he's a Polamalu (in terms of availability), we'll be fine. If he's Sanders, its a problem. (Keep in mind: Sanders was every bit the equal of Troy in terms of effect on games, he just couldn't stay on the field.)

Did seeing Shazier standing on the sideline in sweats last night remind you of anybody?
As many on this site think ... The Rooney's suck, Colbert sucks, Tomlin sucks, the coaches suck, and the players suck.

                  but Go Steelers!!!

It's only funny though, to the ten of us who went to watch this movie in the theater!

BTW, check out Shazier's replacement Vicenzo, racking up 14 solos last week!

                              Peyton would beg to differ.
Sanders injured most of 2006 on a Colts team with a horrid defense, came back and led that defense to CARRY Peyton to his only Colts SB victory.
He was DPOY the following season.

If we get that out of Shazier I'll be happy.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

3rd most injured from 2014 draft class according to the Depot:

Due to Shazier’s intensive injury history, this story may seem like an annual feature that resurfaces again and again. This will be mark Shazier’s third consecutive season in missing time due to an injury, an action that has resulted in him missing the third most time out of all members of the 2014 1st round draft class.
