I'm not the only one wondering if the Steelers are weak when it comes to evaluating defensive backs. Here's an article that highlights their record at this since 2008:

Honestly I struggle with evaluating corners too, probably more so than any position.

All teams have their strong and weak points in scouting...steelers have been phenomenal at finding WRs over the last 15 years, probably better than any team out there.

Hopefully they get out of their slump with Burns and Davis

...and Gilbert...also, still holding out hope for Golson...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

I like Gilbert a lot, I think he will be an impact player and I love Burns who is going to be the real deal.

Long-term, if you have Gilbert and Burns as outside guys, Golson (if he recovers) to be slot CB and Cockrell as your fourth CB, you could have a strength similar to our offensive line...not to mention Davis and Mitchell...

If you could combine Cockrell's head with Gilbert's body, you'd have an amazing CB.

Ya I really like the direction our secondary is heading, we have a lot of young talent.

I was really high on Gilbert....and i liked him about 10x as much as i liked dennard that year.

And their career stat lines are basically identical lol
