I'm so disappointed in him...

Don't trade people when their value is at its lowest.
Buy low. Sell high.
Pun not intended.Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.Comment

If the report is true, then Bell not only has a drug problem, but he's a liar to boot. He can probably forget about any kind of long-term deal with the Steelers.
Maybe the Steelers should have traded him while his value was still high.
Suddenly, the supposed "best offense in the league" is not looking quite so formidable. The top two tight ends from last year are gone, and the #1 replacement brought in may not be ready to go come the start of the season. The team's best deep threat at WR is out for the year. And now, it looks as though their premiere running back will miss the first four games (maybe more; maybe his love for weed is so great he'll join his buddy Martavis and just smoke away the season).
If the story is accurate, I guess Bell and Bryant can join Josh Gordon and Johnny Football and have themselves a nice little "good time" club. What a disappointment, and what a waste.Comment

I have the privilege of supervising several of these so-called "Millennials" of Bell and Bryant's age and you know, I can't say that any of them have much common sense in between their ears. Maybe I'm old but I'm just not feeling this generation at all.Obviously the standard is the standard.Comment

How freaking stupid can someone be. Screw this he has a problem BS. The only problem he has is one with personal responsibility and being a professional.
No matter how good he is they should just plan to move on when his contract expires. Being an irresponsible fool who is injury prone doesn't make sense for a long term investment if this is the true status"My team, may they always be right, but right or wrong...MY TEAM!"Comment

Maybe he missed his mandatory drug test because he was out trying to catch Pikachu in Pokemon Go.Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

You could be right. Bell's problem could just be stupidity. But given that he already had a pretty severe (and costly) "wake up call" via his suspension last year, and given that he's seen what happened to Josh Gordon and Martavis Bryant, well, I think it's unlikely that he could be that stupid.
Drug and/or alcohol dependency can produce some very irresponsible, unprofessional behavior, even in those who are otherwise intelligent and responsible. I know they say pot isn't physically addictive, but I've known people whom I would say had some kind of psychological addiction to it...through which they fell from their former productivity and achievement. Some of them even got kicked out of school or lost jobs/careers.
If Bell's issue is drug dependency, then it doesn't mean he shouldn't be held responsible. It just means (IMO) that he's probably not going to overcome it on his own, without some outside help.
As for his future with the Steelers, whether Bell has a drug problem or whether he's just stupid, it may not matter; they may decide (perhaps rightly) that he's not worth risking a long-term contract over.Last edited by BradshawsHairdresser; 07-22-2016, 02:42 PM.Comment

Fishwhacked.
The only thing dumber than Bell's apparent decision is the NFL policy. It's ridiculous to suspend a star football player because he smokes marijuana. It's irrelevant now, but the league policy needs to change. They will take political heat about what kind of "message" it sends to kids, but within a week no one will care, and teams won't be faced with these random suspensions as they prepare hard for the season.
In the NFL, smoking a joint in the off-season is the same as (1) systematically altering equipment in violation of the rules and destroying evidence of the alteration or (2) purposely trying to cause a head injury to a defenseless and key player during the last minutes of playoff game. Unexplainable.Comment

Logic wins zero arguments with those who are stuck in the mind set that "marijuana is the same as cocaine or heroin"....Fishwhacked.
