Academic point now, but wouldn't it be better to go and fail, than to not show up and then try to make up some bogus excuse? If you fail, it seems like you could come up with more credible excuses, like second hand smoke, you thought the policy allowed you to smoke in Colorado, you ate a poppy seed bagel, didn't mean to inhale, hemp farm caught on fire, when in Rome, etc.

It will get worse before it gets better.

The worse-Deebo gets hit with a PED wrap. It becomes doom and gloom in Pittsburgh-for a moment.

The better-Bell gets another month to get healthy(if he needs it), but more importantly 4 less games of wear and tear. We get him for the playoffs-finally.
-This team develops an us-against-the-world mentality after the league comes down on Deebo. Eff'd with the wrong dude.

              Just gotta weather the storm.

              And sign Ray Rice.

Might as well do it now. While we are low.

It'll make the Phoenix-like ascension all the more bad ass!

I don't think any reasonable person would bet a wooden nickel that he won't fail another drug test in the last 12 weeks of the season.

I believe he is likely a lost cause. Anyone ever hear of an NFL pot-head that ever put the pipe down?

                    Sad.

A 29 year old who hasn't played since 2013? No thanks

                        Sad.

Just trying to hold onto some optimism, here.

These guys are young and stupid. Kinda like another guy we know. Wears the #7.

It's not a situation that they can't dig themselves out of.

Not saying it will be easy, either. But Ben did it. and Ray Rice is looking for a shot at redemption.

                        I say climb on board.

The guy hasn't played in over a year and a half. He's got plenty in the tank. Just ask DeAngelo Williams.

The guy has missed 2 full seasons and his last season wasn't all that great. He is finished

Yeah, why not sign RR, after all look how the Vick signing turned out. God bless 'em.

Our image continues to well....go up in smoke? down the drain?

                              I'll just stop....

I think part of why he played so well last year, was that he had so much to prove to people (in CAR) who cut him loose. Now, not so much.

I think we get a dependable but less dynamic DeAngelo this year. But I don't expect him to produce as he did last year.

On a related note, this can be a good thing when it comes to signing Bell, if he can learn to control his need for weed. Obviously, this favors the Steelers in contract negotiations. Also, it forces him to take some mileage of his tires... For a guy who's established such a star, he's missed good chunks of time due to the hippy lettuce and his unfortunate injuries.
