Nice! Funniest thing I've ever seen on stage!
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

Yeah, I know...can't compare a guard to a linebacker..but if you don't get drafted at the age of 23..you may want to decide on a better career. Less of a career to have in football, plus not much experience if they just started to play a couple years ago (not saying the guy that Chadman mentioned just started to play a few years back)
I'm with you on age. I haven't watched this guy, but I wouldn't consider a 25 year old until the 4th round at the earliest, unless the guy is extremely talented. In 4 years, at the end of his rookie deal, he will be 29. Do you really want to give a guy a second contract at 29?

how old was Deebo when he re-signed last year... I'd say it depends on the player and how good they are

James Harrison is clearly the exception, not the rule.

The Steelers model is to keep their own. At its best, you sign somebody to a second contract that takes them to 30-31, and then you cut ties. They got into cap trouble when they signed a lot of the key players to third contracts to compensate for failed draft picks behind them. Drafting a guy who is 25 is a tough fit in that model. In the fourth round or later, it's not a big deal, but it is far less than ideal for a pick on day one or two.

              Player #2

              Nate Sudfeld, QB Indiana.

Any thoughts? Looks like a mid-round type pick. Big body. Played big 10.

If available with one of our three 7th round picks (assuming that we get a 7th round comp for Brice McCain to go with our original 7th and the 7th we got from the Giants for fellow Aussie Brad Wing), then I'm game...but I'm not going to use one of our top 4 picks on a QB this year. I'm fine with re-signing hometown boy Bruce Gradkowski to compete with Landry Jones for the QB2/QB3 spots (no use for Mike Vick anymore...he's D-U-N done).
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Agreed. Too many other needs for starters and depth on this team.

                    Keep throwing names for discussion-

                    DT/DE Hassan Ridgeway Texas

Many on here don't want a DL in the 1st round, here is a guy that can play most DL positions & could help in the rotation. Could be had in the 3rd according to draft sites.

                    Anyone seen him play?

If we do go for a QB in the later rounds I kind of like Kevin Hogan of Stanford over anyone else.
Obviously the standard is the standard.

Here is what Coach Perv's kid had to say about him on NFL.com:

                          Strengths
Dense, powerful lower half combined with burly upper body. Snap experience at multiple spots along the line. Explodes out of stance and into his downhill charge. Striking athletic ability for a big. Has some change of direction twitch. Sets hard edge with good punch and arm extension to deny blocker's intentions. Grows roots against double teams and fights hard for his spot. Defeats most single blocks. Has play power to step through a blocker's edges with little trouble. Plays with good recognition and quick discard capability to snap down on tackle opportunities. Talented interior pass rusher. Uses coordinated attack with violent active hands and nimble feet. Flashes power to push and quickness to disrupt.

                          Weaknesses
Conditioning has been an issue in the past. Plays hard, but gasses so may need plenty of rotational help. Despite athleticism, range as playmaker is a little limited. Will momentarily lose track of the ball when trying to impose his will on blocker in front of him. Stops flowing outside with play when looking back inside looking to make a play. Hounded by nagging injuries for much of the year. Was hindered by a back issue that arose before the season and then a shoulder injury later. Production didn’t always match the talent on the tape.

                          Sources Tell Us
"He's more talented than Malcolm Brown was coming out but his conditioning and injuries worry you. With time and money will his weight balloon? Will he be motivated to work in the offseason? He would have benefited by going back to school." -- NFL general manager

                          Bottom Line
Ridgeway didn't put together as productive and flashy a junior campaign as he did a sophomore season, but that was due partially to nagging injuries. You can watch snap after snap and clear losses to the blocker are hard to find. Ridgeway has a rare combination of power and athleticism that give him the potential to impact the game on all three downs. His talent could make him the most impactful defensive tackle to come out of this draft, but his floor is lower than some due to concerns over health and conditioning.
