Chadman's list of interesting players in the draft...

Thought Chadman might just through out a few names between now & draft day to get opinions & discussion going..

We shall start with Utah OLB Kyler Fackrell.

    6'5" 244lbs

He will be 25 this year, but he's a tall, athletic player that is pretty good in pursuit & can play in coverage.

Looks like he falls into that 2-4th round type range at this point, but that will tighten up the closer we get to the draft.

Obviously Jarvis Jones hasn't come on as hoped. Harrison is on his last legs & Moats is never going to amount to a great OLB.

Bud Dupree showed promise last year, and the jury is definitely still out on Chikillio.

Would a 2-3rd round investment in a tall, athletic older OLB be a bad draft pick? Can you have too many pass rushers?

    Thoughts...
The people that are trying to make the world worse never take a day off, why should I?

    Light up the darkness.

The Steelers haven't liked to draft older prospects. Just sayin'....

If the BPA at 1.25 is an OLB they'll take him in the 1st round IMO, if not they'll wait, but I think there will be an ROLB selected within the first three rounds.

I find Vernon Butler very interesting for the Def Line.

I'm more fan of Billings and Reed, should either fall. Butler, I've read may struggle at he nose - haven'' seen much of him, so, no clue.

I'm just not a fan of the name Kyler. Tyler is tolerable and Kyle is bearable...but Kyler? C'mon now...doesn't exactly scream "badass outside backer" at first blush.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

How about some of these local boys like PSU's Carl Nassib. 6'7" 275lb DE. Could be the next Aaron Smith in the making? Late 2nd round pick or maybe move up in 3rd? WVU's Safety in 1st round?

Chadman agrees- Vernon Butler looks like the kind of player that could help on numerous Defensive Line fronts & give Heyward & Tuitt a spell, while taking snaps off McLendon.

Clearly he lulls the opposition into a false sense of security...

From what Chadman has seen of him, he's quite smooth across the ground for a tall, angular type of guy. Solid in pursuit & a decent tackler.

The thing is, he won't be yet another 1st round investment in the position. The money needs to be spread over the entire defense. He should step in as an immediate ST guy.

                        Has anyone seen him play?

If you youtube the clip of him against USC, goes about 10 minutes, you get a fair collection of the good & bad on him.

The whole age thing throws me off...I get thinking about that guy that the Beagles drafted in the first a few years back...that fireman that fizzled out quickly.

Yeah, I know...can't compare a guard to a linebacker..but if you don't get drafted at the age of 23..you may want to decide on a better career. Less of a career to have in football, plus not much experience if they just started to play a couple years ago (not saying the guy that Chadman mentioned just started to play a few years back)
