In a weird way, this fumble may help him make this team this year. Before the fumble even occured, I honestly didn't consider him a keeper going forward... and I don't think the coaches necessarily saw him as such (though of course, I could easily be wrong).

But with the fumble, and considering that guys at that level (4th-5th RB) tend to be similar in terms of ability... i.e. you don't usually have a supremely talented gem there. Most of these guys are plucky, overachiever types, just like Touissant.

But, given the fumble, I think the coaches will look for an opportunity to let the kid get on the team. They don't want this to potentially be the period (.) at the end of his career.
I wasn't hired for my disposition.

I don't think the team will give him a spot because he fumbled in a playoff game...I think the team will give him a spot because he earned it and because, outside of the fumble, he performed about as well as your 3RB could be expected to perform (outside of the fumble, that is...).
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

I agree. And fumbles happen to the best of them. And sometimes at the worst of times. Just ask Mendenhall and Bettis. If we had lost that playoff game against the Colts in 2005 when Bettis fumbled at one of the worst times I can fathom, imagine how his career would have been viewed?
