Better news than I expected. Encouraging to know that he may be available. Let's hope he's not hampered in any way come game time.

if this was the old NFL, you numb him up and get him back out on the field. not sure what the 'new NFL' will allow...

There is no ankle protocol...I'd imagine that if he can walk, he'll want to play. Even if he's limited to, say, 10-12 carries and 3-4 receptions, that's more of a threat than if we rely on Touissant or Todman back there.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

If no Williams on Saturday and I have serious concerns about our chances. Why can't we have a healthy top RB going into the play offs. Two years in a row is ridiculous

You can thank our division rivals...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

IMO, the Steelers are about 50/50 even with him in. The Steelers seem happy to be in. I can understand that, because I'm really happy that they're in. However, the Bengals are really looking to get that playoff monkey off their back and would love to do it against the hated Steelers. They haven't won a playoff game since what, 1990. Averages tell me that they are due, but I can just hope it's not against us.

I agree with your odds...game is a toss up.

It is really our offense versus their defense. As I have said, if we can't score 30+ we won't win.

We need to see a very different Ben than we saw versus the Ravens and Browns or we are in big trouble. I expect the Bumgals to follow the Ravens approach on defense and that didn't work out too well for us.

If DW is a no go the Steelers should pull out some New England film when they didn't have a top flight RB playing in important games. That could be the blueprint for how to use a backup to the backup RB to win games, of course, one of the things that has to change is Ben's style. Be patient, take your shots when they're there and move the chains, don't try to win the game on one play. I know its not in his DNA, but without much of a threat at running back from a rushing standpoint you use him in the very short passing game to gain 2, 3, 4 yards at a time. Toussant looked good running a slant on the 2 pt conversion so he seems capable in the passing game.

Yep, it was 1990 when they last won a playoff game. Their current streak of losing 6 straight in the wildcard round began in '05/'06 in the Kimo - Palmer knee game.

AJ instead of Dalton. Does that make you feel a little better about facing them without DW, if it comes to that?

Not really, if we're without DW. AJ has been respectable as a replacement and our pass defense hasn't exactly been stellar. In fact, AJ might not freeze up under the playoff lights the way Dalton has.

McCarron, unfortunately, is the exact quarterback that the Steelers don't need to face because he is still getting his feet under him and is very careful. He is more than willing to take underneath stuff all day and then take the occasional shot down field to Green (as he did last game). His 67% completion percentage tells me he isn't afraid to throw it to the underneath routes which has been killing the Steeler defense for years.
