Well, this is from Dulac who I guess he is being condescending and lecturing you. I guess statements of fact that you don't agree with are condescending now.

I don't see this franchise as mediocre in a league where every aspect of it is designed for parity and we pretty consistently sit above the curve. Of course I want to go deep into the play offs every year but that doesn't happen. I just choose not to have a hissy fit about it and demand changes that I have no ability to make happen.

I do like Mike T but I think he's on his last contract if he doesn't win another playoff game under it. This current crop of young defenders simply has to pan out because if they don't, redrafting and starting over will be after Ben is past his prime, perhaps out of the league. And that will probably be too late.

In fact, for the secondary, it is too late to fix via the draft alone. Woodley's and Polamalu's cap hits are off the books after this year. Timmons will be cut or extended, lowering his. All of that savings will offset Ben's cap increase by a good margin, and I'd love to see them use that savings for a true #1 CB.
Who is attacking who? It seems like the ones attacking are the anti-Tomlin crowd who get downright angry that others choose not to blame the head coach for everything. Is Tomlin going to get fired or publicly rebuked to placate fans...NO! Is Tomlin perfect...NO! Are Tomlin's employers very happy with him...I would say that is a high probability of a YES!

there are plenty of fans here that are happy with being above 7-9 and there are fans of the head coach(because he is black), above being fans of the steelers.

MT's contract expires through the 2018 season. If at the end of 2017 the Steelers are sitting on seven straight season without a playoff win, I doubt they extend him again, in which case he'll be coaching for his job in 2018.
i disagree. i dont think the rooneys really care about winning that much. as long as the seats are filled and they play about average football, the rooneys will be happy. the steelers dont fire coaches and they sure as hell wont fire a black one. can you image the outcry by firing a head coach with his record? fans and media would surely turn it into a race thing. unfortunately he's here until he decides to leave

the rooneys made it a race hiring and yes, as a whole, his record is quite good. when you look deeper in to it, you can see where he has failed miserably with the talent he has had. every season that passes proves he won with cowhers players.

Wow...the only thing you can see is a black Head Coach not a coach with one of the best records in the NFL over the past 7-9 years, two trips to a Super Bowl and one win.

no, i see a head coach that is exempt from any criticism by some fans because he is black

It's easy to back seat drive.

We have the #1 offense in the league. We did so by making decisions to let wallace and sanders go. I appears colbert did the right thing. For several years our offensive line was in shambles - but the made the decision to after pouncey and decastro. The O-line has been much better the last few years and I think that has made a huge impact (i'm not discounting munchaks input either). We drafted (absent injury) possibly the best RB in the game. I agree the LB's over the last few years have been a disappointment - but it comes down to a chicken or the egg kinda thing. It appeared to me the steelers were focusing on LB's and D-line to overwhelm the opposing offense and take pressure of the secondary. I suppose they could have drafted guys that could cover for 8 seconds to give lesser talent up front time to get to the QB. Pick your poison. Yes, it hasn't quite worked out. The secondary is spectacularly bad. I think they look a little better when the 7 up front are collapsing the pocket - so the theory of how they drafted seems sound, it's just the execution that has been lacking. That being said, our sack total the last year or 2 has been respectable (if I'm remembering the numbers correctly). I recall just a few years ago we were struggling to finish a season with 20. So, maybe not the improvement we were hoping for - but I think improvement nonetheless. I like the front 3 of our D-line very much. I'd like to see our LB's all be lawrence taylor - but I'd settle for 2 out of the 4 first rounders living up to their draft position.

bottom line, we really have one glaring weakness. the secondary. That can be minimized with stronger play from up front.

But if you want to evaluate this team on talent and the way they have transitioned over the last 5 years from one of the oldest teams in the league to one of the youngest - I think it's fair to say Colbert has done a very nice job.

bottom line, any talk of firing him is absurd.

now if you want to discuss what the 'chefs' have made with the 'ingredients' he gave them over the last 4 years - that's another story!

I never said that the stats that Dulac cited were condescending. But let's not pretend that your post wasn't. The line below isn't from Dulac - it's from you:

Shows how spoiled fans areand how stupid the philosophy of "fire'em" is. Thank goodness the Rooneys don't listen to fans and reason reigns at the top level
To attempt to portray that as a "fact" is disingenuous. Or, put more simply, a bold faced lie. It is your condescending opinion, nothing more, nothing less.

If you don't think that is condescending, I'd suggest that you buy a dictionary.

IIRC, from articles I've read over the years, Colbert and Tomlin share that responsibility in the draft, along with the Coordinators (to a lesser degree).

I wouldn't be firing anyone. The team has it's warts, but others do as well. I really think this team can beat any team in the NFL and the maturation of the Defense will help that become more the norm. That comes with time. Sadly, Ben has not been good these past couple of weeks. Hopefully, he's just going through a bit of a slump or rougher years than 10-6 are on the horizon.
