I don't see what the controversy is. It's idiotic to mock and antagonize your boss's customer base. Full stop.

What's so hard to see about that? Employee: keep your mouth shut!

Why can't the fans be upset that a first round draft pick misses more time than he plays? Seems logical to me.

I agree.... Shazier needs to turn off his social media.

but let's not act like we don't know why fans get angry.

why do we post on message boards, buy jerseys, tickets, etc???

not sure why people act like they don't know why fans are invested in their teams.

we know why and its OK. The players play the game and we sit in the stands or at home and yap about it.

The fact that Shazier is spending time reading this bothers me. Even if Shazier was healthy and never missed a game some fans would complain about his production because it's what we do.

Then why shouldn't uninformed fans keep their mouths shut?

They can if they want to, otherwise don't have to, because their paycheck is not coming from the people they criticize.

How would your boss feel if you publicly criticized the people he needs to be happy with him (customers, if you're in sales; inspectors if you are in the nuclear industry ... etc)? It's no different for Shazier mocking Rooney's paying fan base, IMO.

I think feltdizz and others hit on it earlier.
I know it's a subtle difference, but most fans are not frustrated with Shazier's injuries. They are frustrated that he is not on the field for whatever reason.
Not being able to see an exciting player that can be a gamechanger out there making plays.

"They are frustrated that he is not on the field for whatever reason."

But yet they know the reason is because he is injured. It seems kind of childish to be frustrated, when they know that injuries happen in bunches in this game. So instead of acting like a spoiled brat, accept the fact that injuries happen in this game - - to all teams. Haven't we had two more guys injured today? Vick and Beachum? Isn't Ben missing his third consecutive game? Anybody taking shots at Ben for being made of glass? He has missed a lot of games in his career.

So why not grow up? The critics are no more frustrated than Shazier or any other injured player. These guys don't WANT to be injured. Questioning their motivation or their physical condition only adds to their frustration and so they lash out. I would too.

I think something is wrong with people that get angry over sports. Especially knowing that the only people that really win in sports are the coaches, players, and owners.

It bothers you that Shazier reads what people say? I have a hard time understanding why you let that bother you?

A majority of the time I believe it's better to try and understand and accept certain things then to sit around complaining.

It's one thing to discuss a player's production. It's another thing to haggle a player and complain about that player because he can't contribute due to injury. Makes very little sense to me to complain about an injured player that can't play.

You can carry on with your anger, frustrations, and complaints.

So why would fans feel the need to attack him because he can't play due to injury? This is extreme but what if his injury is career threatening? It sounds like Pouncey is headed towards career threatening issue as a result of an injury.

Shoulder injuries ended Brian Bosworth's career. Turf toe ended Jack Lambert's career. A lot of injuries have ended careers. I still don't understand why injuries are a reason to criticize a player. These guys are competitors and they don't want to miss one game, let alone four.

Easiest way to quiet critics is with their play. In the Shazier vs CJ Mosley derby Mosley is winning hands down.
