the majority of ex players who comprise the talking heads will support him ala Obama because he's black. You don't hear anything from F.O. people so stop. You do hear from ex coaches but they usually stick together and don't criticize their peers too much. The dude was so good that they didn't let him choose his coordinators when hired. He lucked out inheriting a team in place with a franchise QB and won a SB against maybe one of the worst SB teams in NFL history (ARI). A real team exposed him (GB). Since the previous regime's players have aged and left he's not led the team to a playoff win. He's a black Barry Switzer. I actually think Barry was more responsible for their SB win than Tomlin was for his. It's the Obama effect. He's a cool cat that people like. It clouds their judgement when it comes to his coaching. We have years of evidence that he's horrible at time management at the end of each half. He's failed to draft or develop a single good secondary player despite him being a supposed defensive back minded coach. Each year there are 2 or 3 losses to subpar teams we should have beat because of his awful leadership skills.
I'd welcome some instances of his good coaching. I know you won't provide it except to reiterate that he won a SB with Cowher players and coaches in place and Ben in his prime. But please. Tell me more about his great coaching. Examples of his great leadership, developer of talent, or gamesmanship that has made any positive impact these last years now that the team is primarily built under his umbrella. I'd love some real talk i.e. examples. But I'm sure we'll get nada except maybe an insult or two...belittlement...even calling me a racist. Been asking this question for years now and his fanboys NEVER have an answer..because there aren't any. It's all style no substance. I'll be waiting. Actually...I'll just move along because people don't change their minds about their idols. I have already stated I would become his biggest fan if he leads the team to the playoffs this season so I will change if that happens. But will any of you fanboys admit your wrong if we fail to win a playoff game for the 4th season and counting?
