As for Mitchell, as long as it wasn't after the whistle, I don't necessarily have a problem with that...better him diving for Hyde's legs with the ref swallowing his whistle than Hyde somehow squirting free for 5 yards after our guys thought he was stopped...
I'd have to see it again in real time, but it looked like a cheap shot from Mitchell:

Absolutely, he had to hit Hyde there - Hyde looked close to breaking the tackle. But he didn't have to dive for the knee. I'd rather Mitchell hit him high and try to strip the ball.

That looks like what happened to Le'Veon Bell last season against the Bengals.
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

I fear that the only way to know is to have watched the game ... but I just can't figure out how the defensive backfield of two weeks ago all of a sudden pulled themselves together enough to not be picked apart by a QB whose team was so far behind that everyone knew he was going to pass, pass, pass.

Was our front line really that overwhelming, that the QB didn't have time to find his downfield receivers? If that's true, this game could wind up being a case study for the GM and talent drafters in the NFL ... spend $0.00 on safeties and corners, and pour every penny available in the defensive budget into the front 7!

Steel Curtain ... plus 40 years ... equals: "Furious Seven!"

We got our "6-PACK" - time to work on a CASE!

HERE WE GO STEELERS, HERE WE GO!

The clip makes it look like he targeted the knee. If so, shame on Mitchell and another reason to dislike him as a player.

With the exception of one 75 yard pass play, that is exactly what happened...

Our defense is geling and Tom Brady was the worst qb we could have faced in week one with a new defense. Quick strikes and miscommunication put us in a tough place. As our corner play improves so will our sack totals.

Well, the lead and the ball is best, but of the two scenarios I suggested, I'd rather be behind and give Ben the chance to win it with a drive rather than leading and turning it over to the defense to hold the lead.

Keep in mind Mitchell was penalized and I think fined last season for a too high hit to a WR. after that incident he said he would now on aim low 'cause that's what the NFL wants'....

Exactly. People calling him dirty are off base. He's not a dirty player and he's not the first to get upset with the rules. I bet every other player in the nfl would prefer someone came in high. Yes concussions are debilitating, but so are knee injuries and one of them ends careers right here right now. It's a double edged sword for sure but I don't believe for a second he's a dirty player.

Anything to be made of the fact that Dupree trumped JJones in snap counts yesterday? Are coaches hinting on the better player staying on the field?

Jones pushed the pocket all game and is great against the run. They don't rotate from the same side and there doesn't need to be a "controversy". The front seven across the board had a very strong game. If not for Jones on several occasions the middle of the line wouldn't have opened up like it did.

Jarvis was solid in this game.

They play different positions and share that post with different players. Nothing to take away from it.

Dupree has Moats in front of him
                            Jones has Harrison
Do you think Moats is better or worse at his position than Jimmy is at his position? That's the comparison you have to make. It means that Dupree is closer to Moats than Jones is to Harrison. And that's not surprising.

Jones was the best OLB on the field sunday.

Out of 151 total defensive snaps:

                                Harrison 88
                                Dupree 77
                                J. Jones 64
                                Moats 59
