LOL great comparison. AZ used to have the same issue. I hope that it is the over-excitement of seeing open field for a change, but time will tell. At least he waited until he got the first on his big draw play run before falling. It had that feel of excitement when he had the ball in his hands.

Amos was very efficient and effective for the Steelers when he got about 5-6 touches per game...I can see that being the same for Archer...

As Zereoue's workload increased, his effectiveness decreased...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

Famous Amos had a bad habit of falling down and getting tagged. He did that regardless of how many carries he got. He was at risk to fall down all by his lonesome self everytime he touched the ball.
He was actually a good player otherwise, with good feet and a nice burst of speed.
I hear he's currently running a restaurant where he doesn't fall down.

Nah...Butler is good. By the LeBeau standard he gets at least three years of diminishing defensive performance before anyone is willing to call the baby ugly and do something about it. <sarcasm>

Or, before people acknowledge that the talent either isn't playing up to snuff or they are injured...

And, he should also produce a top 10 defense for 8 out of 11 years including 3 times being #1 (based on yards allowed and scoring) and a couple Super Bowl appearances, right? No sarcasm intended.

The challenge to improve won't be this year, but next year after the "newness" of Butler wears off. Then, when he's successful, the challenge will be to stay there for an extended period of time. We'll see.

Archer is making the mistake of going 100% at all times and usually trips over his own feet. He needs to just sit with Bell and learn. The reason Bell is so good isn't because he goes 100% full throttle all game long. It's because he doesn't. He is patient, waits for a play to set up, reads and assesses then explodes. Archer looks like a spaz as if he believes going fast all the time will get him where he wants to go. That may have worked in college but wont in the pros.

Bell can take a hit from an NFL player..
                    Archer can't with that frame.

but a lot of times defenders miss Bell because he is great at changing speeds and stutter stepping.

Archer isn't that shirty but he is tripping over his feet because he is running like a mad man. Dude needs to slow down a bit and learn how to change gears. He looked better than last year so hopefully he keeps improving.

All that being said, it was universally acknowledged that the field was awful at the HOF game. Perhaps things would have been different on a good track.
