Rashard Spills the Beans on Ben

If true, it's pretty classless on Ben's part, IMO.

I think he's grown up since then.

25K? No wonder Ben was sacked so much. I bet he did this to Adams right before the Minnesota game in England.

Right, but since it's Ben we're talking about, he will take heat for it.

"A source" said it was not true?
I don't know what that proves versus a guy who puts his name on it.

Said "source" also said Hills (a poorer rookie) was given the bill, literally could not pay it, Ben paid it but still made Hils pay him back?

I don't think it's a big deal either way, I don't doubt Ben had his share of bill paying as a rookie himself.

Ben is no "monster" for it, regardless of who is telling the truth, but ain't no saint for floating a bill and getting paid back.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

Dont know about the veracity, but how do you spend 25k on food and drink for only 10 people? It doesn't sound like a caviar place that they went to.
If I had 25k to throw on a casual party, I'd pay up a big chunk of my mortgage..

Yeah, it's hard for me to be too sold on a story from an anonymous source.

Was Mendenhall even there? It was for offensive linemen and then the QBs came. I saw no mention of RBs. Although, if they were there, it appears Rashard was not rushing to pay the bill...

Perhaps "Rush-hard" was "rushing hard" to get AWAY from paying?

I think Mendenhall is kind of a douche for releasing private team info. You keep that sort of thing amongst teammates, but he decided its the most newsworthy tidbit he could offer up in order to draw attention to his lifes work.

I suspected as much when he was with the Steelers...that's a big part of the reason why I wasn't sad to see him go.

First off, even though the source is not named, he is not anonymous either. The writer knows who the source is, but does not name him. That is much different than an anonymous source.

Second, this took place during a rookie haze event. Whether or not you agree with the notion of rookies having to foot the bill once a year, it happens (or happened) on every team in every pro sport.

Third, nowhere does it claim that Ben is a saint. He loaned the guy money for the bill he needed to pay. He got paid back. No big deal.

Frankly, i think this means nothing in regard to BB. Its not like HE ordered the rook to foot the bill. As the team leader, he just floated the guy some cash to cover the bill.

                              1. I never called the source "anynomous". Said "source" is unnamed. It means nothing, certainly no basis for saying Mends story is false. We don't know who is lying.
                              2. How exactly does point 2 differ in substance from what I said?
                              3. You do know I also said "no big deal", I don't see how our take is so different.
