James Harrison Deal Speaks Volumes About Jarvis Jones

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.Comment

I would say Laundry is the one most likely to get washed out in camp between the three Jones.sigpic

Is Jarvis Jones a "bust?'---NO. Has Jarvis Jones given reasons for the organization to be concerned whether he is worth his draft status---YES! Jones' story is yet to be written but to play ostrich and bury your head in the sand and ignore the fact that we are going into year 3 and still aren't sure if we have anything with our 2013 #1 pick is naïve. He was drafted to play the premier pass rush position in our defense. They didn't do that hoping to get single digit sacks. If Jones can't generate a consistent double digit sack performance each year then while not a "bust" he probably wasn't a good investment.
Jarvis Jones after 2 years: 21 games, 11 starts, 3 sacks, 4 PD, 1 FF, 69 tackles
Lawrence Timmons after 2 years: 32 games, 2 starts, 1 INT, 5 sacks, 3 PD, 1 FF, 77 tacklesComment

If it's not sarcasm.......I'm not even sure what to say. We have some of the most football intelligent fans in the league and some of the absolute worst. The article in question for example just made me upset the first time I read it. It was linked on someones facebook page and they "completely agree" that Harrison's signing is a damning of Jones. A ridiculous notion and a complete and total fluff piece from the writer. I'd say the Steelers are counting on Jones to hold down the one side solo and have Moats and Harrison platoon. Jones isn't going to be losing snaps to anyone at OLB unless he completely falls on his face.Comment

Timmons was a huge bust at one point too if anyone remembers...yawnComment

My point is that Jarvis Jones and Timmons have a relatively similar body of work through 2 years. Ovi will drink Timmons' bathwater but he repeatedly points to Jones as a problem.Comment

Go ahead. Keep taking swipes at me. Your lack of football knowledge is staggering. Dri Archer will be cut because he adds nothing to this team. Go ahead. Tell me what his role is? Is he an every down RB? A return guy? A third down RB? No hes none of those things. If he cant carve out a nitch for himself this camp he will be cut. It dosent take a genius to see that it takes guys who can contribute to win games.
JJs case is totally different. We know what JJ is. He is, when healthy, a starting OLB. JJ will not be cut. But if he dosent produce this season its safe to apply the bust tag.Comment
