It seems like the Redskins are overpaying a bit for Chris Culliver, who played well in 2014 after sitting out the year before with a torn ACL. They're paying him like a No. 1 corner, and he's not that. He's a solid second cornerback, so he should've commanded less money than this.

Having said that, Washington is not giving Culliver an egregious amount, or anything. The team is also filling a massive need at cornerback. Culliver won't completely fix the secondary, as other upgrades need to be made, but it's a start. Thus, while I don't think this acquisition is great, it does make sense and should help the Redskins improve.

Makes CORTEZ ALLEN's Deal look good (if he plays to his best ability) ... I think he makes a comeback.

This is most likely Patrick Robinson's price tag too at this point ... most likely better guaranteed money.

I dont think so. Robinson is more in line with Mccain who got 2 years, 5.5 million, 3 million guaranteed. Id be SHOCKED if he commanded $8 million a year, he will never get that

@NFL_RealUpdates: #Titans are signing former #49ers CB Perrish Cox, per @RapSheet
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

          @Rand_Getlin: It's a three-year deal worth $15M for Perrish Cox and the #Titans.

Sucks. I was hoping The Steelers would sign him.

Vince Wilfork says he’s joining Texans

Posted by Josh Alper on March 16, 2015, 3:36 PM EDT

When Vince Wilfork became a free agent last week, it wasn’t long before speculation about his next home being in Houston started.

That speculation can come to an end because we now know that Wilfork will be joining the Texans. Wilfork broke the news on his Twitter account on Monday afternoon.

“This has been an interesting process for me and my family, one we have taken very seriously and given a lot of thought. We want to thank the Kraft family and entire Patriot organization for the last 11 years, however we will be starting a new chapter in our lives as Houston Texans. The coaching staff in Houston has made this exciting new transition feel like home to us. We will forever be Patriots in our hearts, thank you everyone for everything.”

The same reasons why speculation landed on Houston probably help it feel like home for Wilfork. There are plenty of former members of the Patriots organization on the staff in Houston, including coach Bill O’Brien and defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel, and his role as the plug in the middle of the defensive line should be the same as it has been in New England throughout his career.

Art Rooney II says Pittsburgh Steelers to remain relatively quiet in free agency

Pittsburgh Steelers fans who have been puzzled and frustrated by the team's relative inactivity during free agency won't like what president Art Rooney II said on Friday.

"At this point we're not expecting a lot more activity out there, but we will continue to look," Rooney said.

The Steelers have done minimal shopping since the free-agent signing period started on March 10.

They signed running back DeAngelo Williams to a two-year, $4 million contrast last Friday but he is the only outside free agent the Steelers have signed.

They hosted cornerbacks Patrick Robinson and Sterling Moore earlier this week but Robinson signed with the San Diego Chargers and Moore signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Cornerback and outside linebacker remain big needs for the Steelers and their most significant moves at the latter are re-signing Arthur Moats to a three-year, $7.5 million contract and signing Canadian Football League star Shawn Lemon.

Pittsburgh re-signed cornerback Antwon Blake to a one-year, $1.554 million contract but lost Brice McCain, who signed a two-year contract with the Miami Dolphins after intercepting three passes last year for the Steelers.

Free-agent signings have slowed considerably after a frenzied first week. The Steelers hope to find bargains like they did last year when they signed Moats and McCain to one-year, veteran minimum deals.

"We're still looking at what the options are and will continue to do that," Rooney said. "If there is a player out there that makes sense for us to pursue we'll do that."

Incidentally, right after Wilfork was signed, JJ Watt simply tweeted, "haha"...
