Why must you poke the sleeping dog?
Time running out for Steelers' 3rd string QB Landry Jones?

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.Comment

Only Crash can point out all of the various injuries Ben has had in his career: Concussion, High Ankle Sprain, Hyperextended Knee, Torn Meniscus, etc., and then turn around and use it to explain why Haley's offense sucks...
He can also rail on about LeBeau's defense and how it sucks and gives up points...and then use it to explain why Haley's offense sucks....Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.Comment

1) Ben was clearly holding onto the ball, trying to make something happen.
2) Hawaiisteel clearly stated the last two seasons. That is why it didn't matter.
It is difficult to characterize Haley's offense as a "garbage time" offense when the Steelers managed to win 11 games and the AFC North....all that with a defense that was less than awesome overall.
If the Steelers had a highly ranked offense but finished 8-8 again (or, God forbid, worse) I could concede the point...but, the fact is that they won 11 games and made the playoffs with Todd Haley, which is something you vehemently claimed would NEVER HAPPEN. I can understand why you are mad...nobody likes to be proven THAT wrong. But, we'll just have to see how this year plays out...Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.Comment

In 2011, the Steelers had the #1 defense by yardage AND the #1 scoring defense....what did the D look like in 2014?
The barometers for success are two fold:
1) Actual offensive improvement.
2) Ben staying healthy.
Again, sorry you don't like the direction of the team...that's too bad...Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.Comment

Umm...from 2012 through 2014?Originally posted by HaleysVomit72011: Bruce Arians' offense scores 20 or less points, in 7 of 17 games, he was fired after a 12 win season, no playoff win.
2014: Todd Haley's offense scores 20 or less points, in 9 of 17 games, he's still here after an 11 win season (one less than 2011), no playoff wins (IN THREE YEARS).
Where's the improvement?
In Roethlisberger not only playing in his last 32 consecutive games, but also having 60 TD passes in that time as well as career low sack totals for 16 game seasons?
I'm sorry that you have something against a healthy QB...Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.Comment

Ben's career is clearly circling the drain...and he knows it! There is no way he'd ever sign a contract extension with the Steelers after all the terrible things they've done to him...
Oh...wait a minute...
Um...anyway, at least the Steelers would never sign Haley to a contract extension, knowing how negatively he's affected Ben's career...
Oh...poop...
Well, Ben would have never signed if he had known Haley was getting an extension...
Dag nabbit! Strike three...Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.Comment

Back to Jones - while not impossible; I think Jones improvement for this year over the last 2 seasons would have to be on a level close to the Pope declaring a miracle for him to make the team. After the last pre-season, I would have been more comfortable with Heath Miller going under center (he was a high school QB) than Jones. Just dismal.
Now the Steelers have multiple college guys who were College QBs trying to switch to WR. Keep the one with the most promise, stick him on the practice squad and you have a 3rd "QB" in case of an absolute emergency.sigpicComment

I'm willing to see Jones for another preseason before casting vote. He has the arm strength and when comfortable in the pocket the accuracy to deliver darts. He has shown its not his arm talent that will kick him out of the league. It's his eye, reaction time, and poise. Will the light bulb come on? Maybe. I mean what happened to Maddox? The guy sucked and then found at least a reasonable albeit short career with us.Trolls are people too.Comment
