I'd say they got some kind of rule in place that states if you stay out of trouble for a certain amount of time, the NFL cant hold past infraction against you. Something like Suh went through earlier in the year for stepping on Rodgers2019 Mock

What do you expect from a low-life P.O.S. The dude is insane. and screw losing draft picks, it should cost them the game!NFL looking into Pats' possible use of deflated balls

The New England Patriots find themselves amidst another controversy following their 45-7 pummeling of the Indianapolis Colts.
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday, via NFL spokesman Michael Signora, that the league is looking into the apparent use of overly deflated footballs by the Patriots during their win.
Midway through the game, a ball was taken off the field and out of circulation, Signora told Rapoport.
WTHR's Bob Kravitz first reported the news Sunday night.
Per the NFL rulebook, game balls must be inflated with between 12.5-13.5 pounds of air. Each team must provide 12 primary balls for testing prior to the game.
Deflating balls is presumably done to increase grip. The most recent ball deflating news came from the college-level at USC in 2012 -- then under Lane Kiffin's watch -- when a student manager was dismissed after it was alleged he deflated balls during a contest.
Kravitz reported that if the NFL confirms deflated footballs were used to gain an advantage it could cost the Patriots draft picks. In 2008 the Pats were heavily fined and docked a first-round draft pick for what is now known as "SpyGate."
In advance of Super Bowl XLIX, there will be plenty talk about "DeflateGate."2019 MNFE CHAMPIONComment

The thing is...why?!?
They won 45-7...did they need to cheat in order to win that game?!?
It's clearly an ego thing with Belicheat...he has to prove that he's smarter than everyone else, losing draft picks be damned...Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.Comment

I'm sure that it was NE that used the ball in question...the delay was when NE was on offense...the game balls switch during the course of the game...Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.Comment

If/when he made the decision to do it, he didn't know it was going to be a 45-7 game. He has a win at all cost mentality.
There was one point during the game yesterday where the officials stopped the play to switch out footballs. The announcers mentioned that it was to switch the ball used to kickoff with a game ball. Why did it take so long to do that? Maybe they were looking into the deflation issue at that point?
I have a feeling that there is a lot more "cheating" going on behind the scenes in Belicheat's career than we know about.Comment

So much for the Colts-Patriots game being not nearly as intriguing as the Packers-Seahawks game.
Via Bob Glauber of Newsday, the NFL has confirmed the existence of an investigation regarding whether the balls were properly inflated in the AFC title game.
Rule 2 of the official NFL rule book requires that each team make “12 primary balls available for testing” two hours and 15 minutes before kickoff. The home team must make 12 backup balls available, and the visiting team may bring another 12 backup balls for games to be played outdoors.
Several years ago, in an effort to prevent any doctoring of balls used in the kicking game, the NFL adopted a rule that six new, specially-marked kicking balls would be used for each game, with the boxes opened by the officials two hours and 15 minutes before kickoff.
All balls remain under the supervision of the referee until they are delivered to the ball attendant shortly before kickoiff.
The existence of the investigation, as initially reported by Bob Kravitz of WTHR-TV in Indianapolis, suggests that the referee failed to properly check the specifications of the balls (or was paid to look the other way
), the referee didn’t properly secure the balls before they were given to the ball attendant, or something happened to the balls after they were given to the ball attendant.
