Harris in all likelihood is another baron batch

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.Comment

The @steelers have signed RB LaDarius Perkins to their practice squad. He is an undrafted rookie FA from Mississippi State.
Perkins a tough little guy (5-7.3, 195) I liked at MSU. Team captain, kick returner, blocks and catches. 4.46 40. Played hurt as Sr.

Did Blount play on special teams? I don't remember seeing him out there. So this has the possibility to help special teams and change another roster spot because of special teams. Also this can impact decisions for when Ike, JJ, Shazier ETC return. This week off depending who can and does return will mix up the game day roster some. And impact special teams some which should help special teams I hope. Could be part of he decision to release Blount even to go with a RB who can and should help on special teams.Comment

YES I know that. But the last 2 games did he play special teams when not primary KR? I did not notice him? Just saying his play on special teams besides primary KR could have been sub par also. So that along with other Blount problems lead to his release. And I hope different ST players improve that part of the game.Comment

"LaDri Archer II". I see what you did there. Perkins is 5' 7" but the resemblance to Archer ends there. At 195 pounds he is much stockier than Archer; in fact, add another 5 pounds and his dimensions begin to resemble Jones-Drew. I am NOT saying he's Jones-Drew, just that he and Archer are different body types.
Harris might be another Baron Batch but why so pessimistic before he's played a down?Comment

Speedy RB Josh Harris gets shot with Steelers
November 20, 2014
By Ray Fittipaldo / Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Steelers running back Josh Harris catches the ball during practice at the team's South Side facility on Wednesday, November 19, 2014. Harris replaced LeGarrette Blount's spot on the roster.
At 5 feet 11 and 210 pounds, new Steelers running back Josh Harris isn’t nearly as big as the player he replaced — 6-foot, 250-pound LeGarrette Blount. But Harris has one quality the team has emphasized more — elite speed.
Harris might not be as fast as rookie third-round pick Dri Archer, the fastest player in the 2014 draft who was timed at 4.26 in the 40-yard dash at the scouting combine in February. But Harris isn’t far behind. He was timed at 4.46 when he was at Wake Forest.
“He’s a phenomenal runner,” starting running back Le’Veon Bell said. “I’ve been watching him all year. I’m glad he’s going to get the opportunity. I’m excited for him. He’s been doing a great job. Now he has to take extra precautions and stay in the playbook and things like that because he’s no longer a practice-squad member.”
Harris was signed to the active roster Tuesday after the team released Blount, who had become a distraction after he walked out on his teammates Monday night at Tennessee.
Harris, 23, played four seasons at Wake Forest and went undrafted. The Steelers signed him to their training-camp roster in July, then to their practice squad in September after the 53-man roster was assembled.
“We’re excited,” offensive coordinator Todd Haley said. “He’s a guy who definitely came in and put his hand in the pile and worked hard. He’s been a consistent guy, mobile, quick, has some speed. We’ll see what he brings.”
Haley said Wednesday Archer will serve as Bell’s backup for the time being, but indicated that’s not written in stone. Harris will receive an opportunity to show what he can do.
“We need Dri and Josh to be ready to go,” Haley said. “If [Bell] needs to be spelled, we have them. And, God forbid, if something happens to [Bell], you have to have guys who are ready to go.”
The Steelers have their open date this week and don’t play again until Nov. 30 when New Orleans visits Heinz Field. Harris has the next week to prepare for his first NFL game.
“I’m so excited to be around these guys,” he said. “I see how hard these guys work. I can’t wait to put my hand in and say, ‘Now let’s work.’ ”
The Steelers signed another undrafted rookie free agent to take Harris’ place on the practice squad. LaDarius Perkins, who played at Mississippi State, practiced with the Steelers Wednesday.

i dont know shawn. fezz said he is a "waste of a draft pick" and "I give up." I think that means he doesn't want to see any more of him.Even if Bill Belichick was getting an atomic wedgie, his face would look exactly the same.Comment

I'm not sure I would say Perkins is part of the "stable" As a member of the PS, he may be in the shed behind the stable where they keep the tackling dummies."My team, may they always be right, but right or wrong...MY TEAM!"Comment
