Steelers not expected to sign veteran RB to replace Blount. Going w Dri Archer and Josh Harris, as said

Steelers like Josh Harris. Ben Tate not an option right now. Steelers worried they could have same problem w him as Bell's caddy.

Josh Harris - 5'11" / 210 out of Wake Forest has been with the team since July. Here's a nice highlight from the preseason:

http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-h...-a-31-yard-run

Here's one quick scouting report I found:

Positive: Former starter who posted 435 rushing yards and 4 TDs as a senior. Career-best numbers of 608 rushing yards, 5 TDs as well as 19 receptions came during his junior season. Nice-sized runner with average speed. Displays outstanding running vision, instincts and the ability to sidestep defenders in a small area. Quick enough to turn the corner, shows a burst and creates yardage. Changes direction without losing momentum and makes multiple defenders miss over the course of a single run. Effectively picks up blocking assignments, recognizes blitzes, and squares into defenders to take them from the action. Solid receiver out of the backfield.

Negative:
Despite his size not a back who breaks tackles and rather easily brought down by a single defender. Lacks the speed to break long runs.

Basically, we have to pray Bell stays healthy, and, with his hard running style, it is probably likely he will go down for a few games. If he does, we are in deep doo doo.

He's 5' 11", 210 pounds. Why would they say that "despite his size" he doesn't break tackles? Is 5' 11", 210 pounds now considered big?

Hes not really small, but not big either.

Archer will get backup carries, im curious to see how he does.

This isn't great news but being able to get Archer some PT will help us assess need at running back for next season.

Consider me very unimpressed with Josh Harris. Archer is a specialty back not a guy who is a legit #2.

I've seen enough of Archer and what I see, a waste of a draft pick. Someone on the coaching staff is trying to push him into play to prove, " see I know what I as doing when we signed him. " Not going to happen. I see him off the team after next season. Too little, too fragile, no vision and plays scared.

i think the turd archer and this clown from the practice squad can handle the whopping 6 carries per game blount was getting.
steelers = 3 ring circus with tomlin being the head clown

i am much more concerned about having a viable backup if bell were to get hurt

Probably not, but in all honesty we won't know until we give the guy some runs.

BTW: Archer is averaging 5.1 yards a carry. So, I am curious at what he could do with more than 8 carries on the season.
