Yes. We need someone who could step in if our only legit RB gets hurt. Isaac Redman would be a better option to replace Bell if he were to get injured than Archer or Harris right now. Is LaRod Stephens-Howling still available?
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

He actually fought hard for his first downs too. He hasnt been the weapon out of the backfield they hoped for but with the line KILLING it with inside zones and traps he could be a productive runner. Hope they work in some outside zones too, which they havent much of to date

He's a specialty back, not a guy who can step in and carry Bell's load if he gets hurt.

I could see him being a Willy Parker kind of back. 1...3...2...1...1...2...1...45 and a TD.

Probably not as I said before...but heck the little guy is built like a tank. I would love to see him assume a work load before we make assumptions because he isn't "big enough". In 2012 he was touching the ball about 15 times a game. If he could carry the ball 10-15 times...and Harris carry 10-15 times...you have your backfield.

Remember RB Josh Harris? He's still on the Steelers practice squad

By Neal Coolong on Nov 18 2014

After going undrafted, Steelers running back practice squad Josh Harris sounded off on his coaching staff, accusing them of spreading false accusations through NFL coaches and scouts. With a chance for activation in wake of the release of LeGarrette Blount, we look back on this story now.

He didn't mince words, that's for sure.

Even after NFL.com draft analyst saw ex-Wake Forest running back Josh Harris was a 4th to 6th round pick, Harris went undrafted in May, something clearly viewed by him as a surprise.

In a diatribe posted to Twitter not long after the draft ended, Harris said several teams had interest in him as a potential draft pick or an undrafted free agent, but none called him because his coaches told scouts and personnel Harris had a bad work ethic and wasn't a good teammate.

It doesn't speak much to abating the idea of being a good teammate that he took to Twitter to blast his former coaches, but at the same time, sometimes all a man needs is a reason.

Harris has reason and motive to make this team, and may even have the opportunity. The Steelers will have Le'Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount on the roster, with rookie Dri Archer possibly getting a few carries here and there. It isn't impossible to think another young back could steal a late spot on the roster with an impressive camp.

Later, Harris would be contacted by Wake Forest offensive coordinator Steed Lobotzke, who told him via text he told NFL teams he vouched for his character. Lobotzke is now the offensive coordinator at Winston Salem State.

Perhaps it wasn't Lobotzke, but Harris claims again scouts told him he was "badmouthed" by Wake Forest coaches, likely being a reason he wasn't selected. Harris tried out with the Cowboys at their rookie minicamp, but an injury during that likely ended hopes of signing there.

If Harris wants to back up the strong words he posted after the draft, now's his chance.

Hopefully he still keeps this in the back of his mind. I really don't know much about him but hopefully he pans out to be a contributor.

Too little, too fragile, no vision and plays scared.
While I agree Archer has been unimpressive as a pro, saying that he "runs scared" is likely an exaggeration if not a flat out fabrication of your imagination. I watched a ton of his college games. The kid ran between the tackles a lot, and he is tough. He also knows his skill set and realizes he needs to try to fake out players rather than run through them. So, he is going through an adjustment period as the pro windows are smaller and the players are much faster and more athletic. I think he will find a role that utilizes his unique skill set. Give the kid a chance. Tons of Steelers rookies have looked crappy in their rookie season only to become great pros.
Even if Bill Belichick was getting an atomic wedgie, his face would look exactly the same.

I think I get what Fezz is saying. I see him playing than his speed would indicate at times. Which to me indicates that he is unsure...probably not scared.

I think when compared to a scatback type. It is more excusable for a guy like Archer to go down on contact, he just has to be elusive enough to avoid contact. At 210, you aren't quick enough to avoid contact so you better be able to at least handle it.

Harris didn't wow anyone at camp but that doesn't mean he cant contribute. Ball security was an issue at camp but other then that he looked like he could do everything else okay. We don't need him to be a star we already have that we just need him to do his job as a part time rb and perhaps pitch in on special teams as well.
