If he did say this, not smart on his part. I thought these guys were schooled with being celebrities ? Question: Is Mitchell really as bad as they grade him ? I seen somewhere last week that this as the NFL teams goes, is the worse free agency signing this season among all teams.Comment

I still believe OLB and CB top safety on the needs list...some much improved pass rush will make all those clowns back in the secondary look competent.
On the flip side, a corner would let them be a little more aggressive up front.
A safety doesnt really do that....but i think mitchell can improve, hes played well at times and awful at timesComment

Dick Lebeau a HOF corner and a heck of a coach. Mike Tomlin played the secondary position. Carnell Lake one of the better safeties and they recognized Mitchell as the player to have ? !!Comment

Wasn't Santonio Holmes tweeting a fan to "go kill urself" one of the final straws that led to the Steelers dumping his hiney? Mitchell might want to take note of that, along with what just happened to Blount, and consider that he may be skating on thin ice.Comment

Mitchell had a very good year in Carolina before we signed him but he had a much better front 7 there to help him look good...Comment

Yes, read some article in the past that he on his own could not be the player he was without the same surrounding talent but then again, not everyone is a JJ Watts or that star player that can be dominate all on their lonesome.Comment

Taking off the Steeler glasses, there were a few other teams that swung for the fences in free agency and ended up badly whiffing:http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/sports/wp/2014/11/12/worst-2014-nfl-free-agent-signings-redskins-saints-may-have-misspent-on-orakpo-byrd/Comment

The tweets in question weren’t posted publicly. Instead, they were sent directly to specific Twitter users, making them no different than an email or a text message. The end result is another example of the NFL and/or one of its teams reaching into the private business of employees who are off the clock and away from the workplace.
But that’s the nature of the public enterprise that life as an NFL player has become. Things that wouldn’t create even a piece of paper in an employee’s file at any other place of employment become a big deal when the employee works inside the white lines of an NFL stadium.Comment

I'm still not sure I see Mitchell as a bad signing. He started the season poorly coming off a training camp injury and showed steady improvement until Troy got injured. He was the ONLY defensive player to show up for that second Cleveland game and played his best two games in the following weeks.
I think he's an easy target because he's a bit of a hothead, but I also think the very thing we're talking about, Twitter, is part of the reason.
Now, don't get me wrong, I love twitter and use it alot, but even I had to unfollow a few members of the Pittsburgh sports media recently. There are a few of the guys who are not unlike some of the posters here, waiting until the Steelers fall behind to start to really start talking smack on twitter. And they do 100% to pander to the exact fans who looooove to b!tch and moan about the Steelers. As soon as one of them tweets something critical, hundreds of guys either retweet it, or reply and pile on. Mitchell was literally on the OTHER side of the field when Washington caught that TD Monday night and people all over twitter immediately started to sh!t on him. When Blake gave up the TD to the tight end and Mitchell was in the area, the same thing happened.
I'm not feeling bad for Mitchell, not at all, but I do think that the collective "MITCHELL STINKS" narrative is a direct by-product of this.Comment

His stats this season can be compared to Clark's stats in first season, but that D was much better than this one.
He will improve, just give the man some time.If I spell a word incorrectly or make a grammar mistake, I apologize. English is not my native language.Comment
