I haven't been to a game in many years. I had a couple friends invite me to games this year, and the prices they quoted were outrageous to me. The prices were $300-400, for pretty good seats. Is that standard? I mean, if I had a kid or a family of four--that would be a dime ON ONE SUNDAY AFTERNOON.

Just curious: How much would it be for a family of four (ticket, parking, food/drink during game)?
    -cheap seats
    -medium seats
-don't even quote the high end
I wasn't hired for my disposition.

I think I got pretty lucky. I went onto Ticketmaster ticket exchange, and found prising to be much better than Stubhub. I wasn't originally considering next week's Indy game, but then realized that my kids are off school on the Monday so I can stay the night again Sunday. I found two tickets in section 512, first row. Seems to be around the 30 yard line, and on the visitor side. Paid $125 plus charges, worked out to a bit under $300 for the pair.

My bigger problem now is finding a hotel. There is almost nothing available within the downtown area, and anything that I do see starts at over $300 a night for two nights. If I am going to stay outside the city, which is the best way to go? West towards the airport, northeast towards O'Hara, I'm thinking that Cranberry is too far? Want to spend most of Saturday in the city, but also stay in an area where there are plenty of restaurants, and other things to do close by towards the end of the day.

There are some decent hotels on the way towards the airport. Not sure which way is home for you, but if you are eventually headed east towards turnpike, there are some out in the Monroeville area too.

thanks pf. I'll be driving south on 79 into Pittsburgh. Figured the airport area always has something to do in every city, so that is usually a safe bet. Looked at a few hotels in different areas. Ideally somewhere with transit to the game if possible. I'll have to book farther in advance next time. Thanks for the tips.
