    Tomlin's statement? Like this:

I interpreted Tomlin's statement to mean 8 years ago DV cases were handled differently by the NFL. JH paid his dues and he and his wife haven't been in trouble since then.

I don't really care about Tomlin's statement though, I think those asking the questions are doing their job.

If we signed a player who had 2 DUI's early in his career and DUI's was the flavor of the month I would expect reporters to ask a similar question and for Tomlin to give a similar response

yeah... I think it's irresponsible to act like bringing up JH's DV case is a non story.

If I worked in the media I would be all over it because it's a hot topic.

This is why I don't like this whole DV uproar over the video. It's bad... but the NFL has more than a few DV cases and most fans shrugged it off until they saw the video. Even though we all have an idea of what DV would look like with a football player and his wife/girlfriend.

Ok, I agree the question should be asked...and Tomlin should respond. But, his response was perfectly reasonable.

I agree, he didn't say anything wrong in his answer. Now, I could see how someone who didn't like Tomlin would jump on him for talking about JH's woman like she played a part but the reality is a some times women DO play a part.

i'm sure he probably was asked about it but he didnt have to make it public what was said.
"It's been seven years, and it is a different climate," Tomlin told news reporters Tuesday, shortly after the team confirmed Harrison, 36, has come out of retirement and rejoined the team. "I've discussed directly that climate change with James. But knowing James over those seven or eight years, he's grown a lot, as has his lady and I don't anticipate that being an issue at all moving forward."

why even mention that he had the conversation?
why say he and his lady has grown alot.
when asked, tomlin simply could have stated, "that incident happened 7 or 8 years ago. it was dealt with then. there is no reason for me to bring it up again with james"
it might have been foolish him to bring it up, but since the media did , i feel that tomlin took advantage of the opportunity to show what a great guy he is for having that discussion.

It's rare when both parties don't play a role in domestic abuse. At bare minimum a woman has often chosen to stay with a man who she knows to be abusive...has a history of abuse...and who has hit her in the past.

It's almost sickening how this domestic violence case is getting covered. I really do not care anymore. I honestly could care less if Ray Rice puts her in a camel clutch tomorrow. This is so TMZ force fed into your mouth that the issue is getting desensitized. Sure, it's bad to hit a woman but when you're blasted with it 24/7, people begin to turn a shoulder. I watch football to watch football, not to watch MTV.

This is the true story of 53 strangers, picked to play in a stadium, work together and have their lives taped, to find out what happens when football players stop being polite...and start getting real.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

The 'climate change' is that these cases are now tried in the court of public opinion rather than the court of law. Sadly, the rules for the court of public opinion are not necessarily aligned with the court of law. Instead of hiring lawyers, one now needs to hire spin doctors and media risk abaters. Or, just stay out of trouble.

And yes, there is now an 80% chance that something you do in public will be on tape somewhere.

Unless it has to do with the Patriots cheating...those tapes have been destroyed.

The media pokes around, turns over every stone with this crap because they dare not come up with an original idea, story or something else to report. Why can't they ever get on the band wagon for the good things people do ? They had Tebow with his religious background or beliefs and that was not to be spoken about or taboo from what I remember.
Ya because the media kept Tebows religious beliefs a secret.

I don't think what tomlin said was disgusting, he sounded like he was saying what james did was wrong and him and his wife have moved past it. If you want to be disgusted with anyone, you should be disgusted with james for beating his wife.

Let me ask you another question...you get hired by a new company that knows about your history of (lets just say drug abuse) and you have been sober for 10 years. Should the CEO stand before the company putting you in the spotlight and condemn drug abuse after the hire? Or would it be better to fixate on your growth, and to support you? The vast majority of males in this country know hitting a woman is a horrible act...its the act of a coward. But, to publicly berate Harrison does nothing positive...something that happened years ago.
This is going back a few days, but I think you misunderstood me. I was basically speaking in explaination, of the way I believe WindyCity sees it. Not me. Women are not totally innocent in these altercations. I don't think guys should be sluggin women and droppin 'em with one punch, but a guy shouldn't stand there and get slapped or his face clawed off either.
