looks like a PR move to show how upstanding tomlin and the steelers are.
another nfl dog and pony show
I'm sure he was asked about it. It would be foolish to bring it up for a "PR" move.

Apparently, videotapes changed the climate. I would imagine the discussion with James was, "make sure you avoid the cameras"... cuz, otherwise, it's OK, per the commish. And on the commish, that IS very shameful... just sayin

No, it was not "OK" to slap a "hoe" seven years ago. The climate change is that the media, womens' groups and ordinary fans have turned up the spotlight to full glare. A player is in deep trouble now if he simply grabs his wife's arm and says "Please listen to me". If there's a bruise left on that arm, there's going to be hell to pay.

BTW, it's not OK to call a woman a "hoe" either.

Ahhhh...well that's it. I was wondering why my wife made me sleep on the couch last night.

I see nothing wrong with what Tomlin said and it's the media beating a dead horse. It cracks me up how so many people want to make something out of nothing and it's all a witch hunt now. James obviously made a mistake years ago, how long does he or anyone need to relive it. The media pokes around, turns over every stone with this crap because they dare not come up with an original idea, story or something else to report. Why can't they ever get on the band wagon for the good things people do ? They had Tebow with his religious background or beliefs and that was not to be spoken about or taboo from what I remember.

Non story? If he were a Raven at the time, we'd have been apoplectic that he wasn't suspended.

And "a mistake"? A mistake is setting the iron too hot for silk and burning it. Kicking down a door, snapping a cell phone in half to prevent a 911 call, and slapping the glasses off of the face of a much smaller woman is a felony.

Just be thankful there wasn't cell phone footage of what he did.

A felony? According to the laws on the books in many places it isn't even a misdemeanor. In fact, now...seven years later in this supposed "new climate," in New Jersey the only options for Rice cold-cocking his fiance with a closed fist was either a pre-trial intervention program or probation. That's all. Is it sad? Yes it is. And it should be changed, like yesterday. At least that's the one potential positive to come out of all this mess.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

nah.. there is a story there whether we like it or not.

If it was another team in our division or the Pats* and they resigned someone with a DV case in their past we would probably say something about it.

enough time has passed but I'm not going to act like it's a nonstory given the climate of the NFL right now.

It would be irresponsible for the media NOT to talk about this. I would be all over it if I worked for a newspaper. It's there job to write stories like this.

"It's been seven years, and it is a different climate," Tomlin told news reporters Tuesday, shortly after the team confirmed Harrison, 36, has come out of retirement and rejoined the team. "I've discussed directly that climate change with James. But knowing James over those seven or eight years, he's grown a lot, as has his lady and I don't anticipate that being an issue at all moving forward."
Grasping for straws much. Sounds like he stated the fact. Just post "I don't like Tomlin and never will" and we will have a more accurate statement of your intent
"My team, may they always be right, but right or wrong...MY TEAM!"
