Ed: ‘Never Say Never’ On James Harrison Returning

Ed Bouchette: ‘Never Say Never’ On James Harrison Returning

    September 22, 2014

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – 93-7 The Fan Steelers insider and Post-Gazette reporter Ed Bouchette joined “The Fan Morning Show” Monday to discuss the possibility of James Harrison returning to the team.

Bouchette said that he wouldn’t rule out the Steelers bringing back Harrison in light of last night’s injuries.

“Why not?” Bouchette said. “I’d never say never.”

Bouchette then went into more detail about his feelings on the potential of the recently-retired Harrison returning.

“I don’t know that it’s a real possibility,” Bouchette said. “I don’t believe it’s a real possibility, but I wouldn’t discount it because who would you rather see out there, James Harrison or Howard Jones? I’m just speculating here. If you could talk James Harrison into coming back, I don’t think it would take much.”

I can answer his question...Howard Jones. I would rather see the young talent...if he proves unworthy then give Harrison a call.
    Trolls are people too.

IDK, JH said retirement was due to wanting family time. If true, this opening wouldn't change that aspect. Of course, having no suitors could make that desire for more family time a little more prominent. But, is it just me, or did Moats look good out there?

Moats looked good. If he gets hurt, the maybe call James. In the meantime, HoJo is on the PS, right?

I have a great James Harrison Nike jersey and I mainly want him signed so I can break it out of retirement.
Obviously the standard is the standard.

I think Moats looked good because he wears Peezy's #55 well. But we can't fool ourselves into expecting Porter-like production though. I suspect he'll be solid in there but by no means spectacular or anything.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

So how long is JJ out? Ive read indefinitely, that is a tough call in terms of a roster spot. If they suspect it could be a prolonged period, JH becomes a more of a possibility. Seriously, doubt there is anyone better on the waiver wire or our practice squad (sorry HoJo). Id also have to imagine it would provide the players with somewhat of a boost emotionally.

Hearing lots of rumors that Harrison will return to the Steelers. And Bouchette seems to be saying its a done deal:

Just got the following text from Brandon in Missouri (if you listen to Sirius NFL Radio, he's known as the Commish):

@Tom_Kress: Mike Tomlin player RT @RapSheet: The #Steelers will be signing their own former star LB James Harrison over the next few days, I’m told.

I'm not sure who Tom Kress is or how credible he would be, but there you have it.

I've worn mine every Sunday so far. No reason to have it in retirement. Silverback is one of our all time treats and I'd love to see him back. If his back is healed up I think he has gas in the tank. He was used horribly in cincy.
