He has a virtually unequalled record of success. He's earned the benefit of a doubt, whether it not you want to give it to him.
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

How long does he get the "benefit of a doubt"? If the D sucks for three years? Four? Five? Indefinitely?

We'll have to burn that bridge down if we come to it...three years of "sucking" would be after the 2015 season...I don't think it will take that long to right the ship...

Sometimes tackles get missed when you have a ankle-breaking scatback trying to juke you, or a bulldozing power back trying to stiffarm you, or a behemoth guard trying to block you, etc. The other team has elite athletes too, and their job is to try to make you miss. That happens in competition.

You can't compare that to throwing a football from one guy standing still to another guy standing still a few yards away, with no defenders at all to get in the way of the pass. If my son and I are tossing a football in the backyard, we easily complete a pass like that from similar distance at least 90% of the time as we throw back and forth from a stationary position, and we are nowhere near elite athletes (not even really marginal athletes truthfully). I'd say just average high school football players make that same catch more than 95% of the time. Major college athletes probably closer to 99% of the time. Truly elite NFL players would miss on that simple pass less than 1% of the time, I would think. That fake punt likely had a similar degree of risk that you get from possibly missing a PAT.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

Just over one season removed from the number 6 scoring and number one yardage defense. You guys focus on ONLY turnovers and sacks. Those matter true.
But a defenses job 1 is to prevent points however that is done.

Our defense had ONE "average" season so far in preventing points.

And, the fact that the D was able to prevent yardage and points despite the lack of forced TOs and sacks?

It means that the scheme is sound provided players do what they are supposed to do...

Todd Haley missed Steelers’ flight to Baltimore last week

Posted by Mike Florio on September 18, 2014

Here’s an unusual story that would have gotten more attention in recent days if other more serious and unusual stories hadn’t become so usual of late.

Last week, Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley missed the team’s flight to Baltimore for the Week Two Thursday night game against the Ravens. The Steelers have confirmed the version of events that multiple sources shared with PFT.

Late for the flight, Haley contacted the team to advise that he was stuck in traffic. He said his wife would be driving to Baltimore anyway, so he rode with her.

Ultimately, Haley missed no meetings and the situation otherwise caused no problems. But his absence on the flight was noticed, and it was regarded as unusual.

Probably because it is unusual. Members of the coaching staff ordinarily don’t miss team flights. In this specific case, Haley was fortunate that the game was fairly close via car. He also was fortunate that most of the media has been focused on other things.

Snoop Dogg, however, may have something to say.
