It's not that I mind seeing our Steelers lose because I do. It would have not surprised me seeing our Steelers lose but, just the way they looked in this loss seemed so pathetic. They looked lost, confused and not even in the same league with the Ravens at times. On the bad ass scale, the Ravens have it over the Steelers. They seem bigger, stronger, more aggressive and more attitude than our Steelers.

There seems to be a distinctive lack of attitude around the team. I got a general feeling of disintrest oozing through my TV screen.

But, 6 bad quarters does not a season make. I'll try to kkep positive thoughts about this year while recalling past seasons like 1989 (those awful first two blowouts - we got shut out 3 times in 89), and the putrid start to '77 but where the Steelers still turned it arond to make the playoffs. IHowever, I'm burning through my positive affirmations rather quickly in 2014.

When Heath Miller fumbles you know you're in trouble. That means nothing is working for you.

But Ben could have turned the game around hitting Brown over the middle on 3rd down. Brown had the angle on the Free Safety and would have been a huge gain....possibly a score. After that everything went south

I hate to be gloom and doom and the season and development is far from over or impossible for things to turn around. I just hate when we can't get it together or not firing on all cylinders.

and for that, i put this loss on drafting...

Casey has been gone for a couple of seasons and was ailing a couple before that. You'd think over the last 4-5 seasons, they would have grabbed an NT that was worth a darn... the funny thing is draft comes around every year and people say, "you can get a NT later as if it's not that important". And every year, i pull out more hair. A 3-4 defense STARTS with an NT... </rant>

                    Yawn.

Caey wouldnt have been chasing forsett and pierce down on outside zones.

They need dline that can pentrate that zone, its almost like they need tuitt and heyward playing on the same side to stop them running to the right

Casey could push the C back/demand a double team... which would make it easier for the ILB to crash down on the stretch play...

Too many excuses for why we can't stop the run and we all know what the problem is with this D. It all starts with the NT.

The center would just run away from him and he would be left alone in the backfield.

This defense has struggled a lot with outside zone, even when casey was here. They need to improve the dline, but saying it starts and ends with the NT is ridiculous, its not 1995. If Tuitt can get reps AND play well they could see major major major improvements for that run d as he can penetrate, move laterally, and is fast

ever since we lost Casey our run D has been disgusting. I know we lost other players during this time but I'm not sure why people continue to lie to themselves about the importance of a legit NT.

"b,b,but the NT is only on the field for 2 plays due to being a passing league"

bullpucky... play base D and FORCE the other team to protect the QB. I'm sick of seeing our D react to other teams. Make them react to our blitzes and gang tackling like some of these other good defenses.

A center doesn't run away from a legit NT. It doesn't happen...

A 3-4 starts and ends with the NT... sorry but it does. You don't get to change the philosophy of the 3-4 because it's 2014. It's like saying you don't need a good RB because it's a passing league.

You can say it but it isn't true. All you are left with is a 3-4 that gets gashed and an offense that has Redman in it's backfield.

On a zone run to the outside the center couldnt care less who the NT is

Dontari Poe would have helped last night i guess
