I will be absolutely stunned if Adams gets cut. They are going to give munchak at least a season with him before giving up. He's shown promise in the run game.

I think snatch98 has something here. Unless Munchak tells the Steelers, the guy just doesn't have it. Big don't mean bad Mr. Rooney send this guy packing.

                By Ed Bouchette Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

                Good morning,

Some stuff from Saturday night’s game:

--- In my limited time available to watch him, I thought Mike Adams played well. He also did not do badly in the first game. He will make the team, if anyone thought otherwise.

--- YOU: Why is Mike Adams backing up Beachum at left tackle rather than Gilbert at right tackle, when it seems to be well established that he's a better run than pass blocker? I don't mean to suggest that it's the coaches' fault that he hasn't turned out to be the player we hoped for, but as long as he's on our roster shouldn't we be trying to get the most value we can from him by putting him in a position to capitalize on his strengths?

ED: They want him to be able to play both because whoever is the backup tackle on game-day has to be able to play either side in case of injury.

agree 100%... In the second round, they selected a guy projected to be a first rounder, minus character flaws (read: failed drug test at combine). You give that more time than you would a 7th rounder to develop, simply because there's traits there that made the guy a projected first rounder (agility of a LT). Now that Munchak is there, you gotta let that play out, with work and time.

Frankly, i'm still a little miffed that they gave up on Urbik so quickly (one season, iirc) and that he's become a very good/ borderline pro bowl player for the Bills.

Urbik being that good is purely a myth. He is very average. His best season was 2012 playing with Woods, Levitre, and Cordy Glenn....and while he played well, borderline pro bowler is a joke.

The guard that beat him out, Ramon Foster, is still today the better player. And Foster could end up being the worst player on the oline this year (depending on Beachum and Gilbert), and hes still a slightly above average player.

Everyone liked urbik because he was this supposed "bring his lunch pail to work" type of player, but he wasnt good and still isnt that good.

I always joke that everytime the steelers play the bills i say a little prayer that urbik and frank the tank show mercy to the defenders

What did you think of Summers play yesterday ? And Urbiks for that matter ? I'm disappointed we didn't keep Legursky.

Buffalo lost...the only reason they didn't lose worse was because Landry Jones turned the ball over...

that foster beat him out means he can't be on the team AT ALL? didn't know it worked like that... let's just cut every backup. I don't think he's a world beater, just saying if he's started multiple years for one team, you'd think he'd be good enough to be a solid backup on another. that's all i'm saying.

hey, borderline pro-bowl -- that's what they say, not me - lol

It was coming down to them for the last spot though....at the time foster was Colons backup at RT.

They had legursky playing backup center, tony hills at backup T/G, Essex was a starter at G, kemoeatu was a starter at G.

Foster was a swing man, he was what beachum was last season and eventually worked his way into a starter role. One of him and Urbik had to go, Urbik was horrible when he was here.

In hindsight would haveing urbike be better than essex and hills? Sure

We let Urbik go too soon. Esp considering the all-stars we had in front of him. How did Essux last so long??? (thought I would never get to type his name again!!)
