Did we get a top 10 pick in the 2nd round?

Tuitt was definitely considered a first round talent in 2012. Last year he had some injuries which dropped him down. But if we end up with the 2012 Tuitt, we might have nabbed a top 10 type pick in the 2nd round. #dopedraftpick

Steelers' DL coach John Mitchell has stated exactly that, if it weren't for Tuitt's injuries in 2013 Tuitt would have been a top-10 draft pick...

The potential upgrade on D with Tuitt and Shazier - as well as the development of Jones, Heyward, Shark - makes me grin. The Steelers' D might be back.

Im equally optimistic but that list is long on potential and short on accomplishment.

"short on accomplishment". Well, yes, they just got drafted.

Maybe not week 1. But who is going to beat him out?

Our top 3 safeties will likely be Troy Polamalu, Mike Mitchell, and Will Allen and our top 3 corners will likely be Ike Taylor, Cortez Allen, and William Gay, so it doesn't look like there will necessarily be spot for Shark in our regular defensive back rotation from the start (unless he beats out the wily veteran Will Allen in camp) but he is learning SS, FS, and slot CB, so he would fill in anywhere in the secondary as soon as someone goes down to injury.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Yea, barring injury, The Shark will not see much time. However, if Shazier doesn't work out or struggles, we'll probably see him more often.

I guess we will see about Shark.... I saw an interview with Butler right after the draft. He mentioned that they were expecting him to play quite a bit this year.... Speed... Time will tell..

I like the pick but this is the same dude who in 2010 proclaimed of his defensive line, "There's never been a better defensive front in the National Football League".

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

Not to rain on anyone's parade (and I love Tuitt), but I'm skeptical when the Steelers tell us they had a 1st round grade on a guy like Trai Essex.

Didn't some say Landry Jones was a potential first rounder a year before he came out too?

The NFL Advisory Committee told Landry Jones that he had a first round grade a year before he came out...
