Conversely, no need to be a "blind hater" either.

Truth is I do not see homerism at all.

Who is screaming this is a SB team?

It is only the haters who are making prediction of doom and gloom.

Someone says "lets have perspective and not judge this team based on all of TWO meaningless preseason games" makes him a blind homer?

    THAT my friend is ridiculous.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

    TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

Combine that with bad penalties and turnovers and there you have it. What else are people supposed to talk about?
      basically.

I don't think anyone is a hater of this team.... but some are definitely haters of the OL pass protection, another RB in sweats, TO's, penalties, etc.

doom and gloomers and haters are the ones who see a player do something well and continue to bash him or predict failure.

I'll never understand why people are fans of something that they are NEVER happy with. There are a lot of them here and it's why I don't visit very often. The team is never going to be perfect, no team will ever be and if that's what some of you are waiting for, good luck!

        Anyway.....

Who is gonna bash a player who is playing well?
A doom and gloomer is by definition one who habitually predicts "doom and gloom".

I recall our getting smoked one year by Philly. Worst protection for Ben I have ever seen, he was being eaten alive. Doom and gloomers came out to say we were done....won the SB
When we looked out of the playoffs..... under BC and Carson Palmers Bengals won the division.....doom and gloomers came out of the woodwork...... then wons the SB

We looked VERY BAD DURING THE SEASON and wons championships.
            This is only preseason dude.

I share your concerns over ALL the point you mention here (glad you seem over the playcalling stuff, I WOULD call you on that). I have posted those concerns in other threads. Nobody is "blind" to these. But it is WAY too soon to "put a fork in it" with this team.

            That is all we're saying.

Regardless of the preseason, there are two things the Steelers need to do to have a shot at a successful season:

              1.) Modernize philosophies

2.) Let Jarvis Jones, Markus Wheaton, and Shamarko Thomas play during the regular season and play often. This whole "the rookies gotta earn it!" mentality will doom the Steelers.

Jarvis should happen sooner than later because I don't see Worilds being a fit at ROLB. Worilds should be backing up Woodley and Robinson behind Jarvis.

Shark's gotta be our nickle corner over Gay. He's a little beast. I think if we started him at FS next to Troy, he'd be DROY.

Wheaton is gonna have the hardest time getting ahead of Cotchery, but from what I've seen of him so far, I think he has the potential to be our best WR of all time if he can stay healthy and dedicated. I'd put him ahead of Cotch, but I don't see the coaches doing it. If he gets legit playing time, he's my favorite for OROY. Everyone was on his case non stop at camp which tells me the team is focused on turning this kids talent into stardom.

I haven't seen anything from Crotch to suggest Wheaton will have a hard time replacing him.... our WR's are pretty good at getting on the field early and making things happen.

Cotch is still the best guy on the team at finding a soft spot in a zone. He's a good route runner. He's got size. And he's got experience. With Heath out, I think Cotch is Ben's go to guy initially on 3rd downs.

Nope, Ben likes Sanders so as long as he stays healthy he will be the go to guy.
As many on this site think ... The Rooney's suck, Colbert sucks, Tomlin sucks, the coaches suck, and the players suck.

                      but Go Steelers!!!

Much like you bring that crash guy's name into threads he doesn't even participate in. That's really creepy. I hope kids in your neighborhood don't go near you.
