Best 4 LBs

    Best 4 LBs

    Do you put the best 4 on the field now that Farrior is gone?

    And if so, does that mean seeing if Worldis can play inside?

    It's always nice to have a 3rd down pass rush specialist and a rotation on the outside.

    But Worldis seems ready to take the next step into becoming a starter. But there's no path for him to get ahead of Harrison or Woodley.

    But he just might be a better than Foote. The Steelers have to be considering this as an option.

    I haven't seen anything from worilds that suggests he can move inside.

      I don't think our best 4 our on the roster right now. We have 3 of 4, but we either pick up one as a FA or draft Donte Hightower in the first round.

      I would like to see:

      Harrison
      Woodley
      Timmons
      Hightower


      C-town

      Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

      I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

          He's got the size, speed, and athleticism. He may even be a better athlete than Timmons. He's quick for a guy that big. And I thought he even bulked up a bit this past season.

          If I'm him, I'd be calling Butler, Lebeau, and Tomlin asking for a chance inside. These football players want to play rather than sit behind 2 ProBowl calibre LBs for who knows how long.

          Another thought would be could you move Harrison or Woodley inside to get Worlids on the field on the outside.

            weak at the point of attack
            gets caught up in the wash
            runs himself out of plays

            not the attributes I look for in an ILB.

            and there is no way he is a better athlete than timmons. Not even close. How about we worry about guys that can play great football instead of bing a great athlete.

              Chadman gets what you're saying Flippy.

              Could he play ILB? Don't know. Pretty sure the coaches would have it sussed out by now if he can or not & Training Camp might give an indication.

              That said- Foote will start at ILB (to the chagrin of the multitude of Massive Brilliance worshippers) because he will be the teams signal caller, much the same way Farrior was. In fact, it was only last season that both Farrior & LeBeau praised Foote for his ability to step in & call the plays at a moments notice.

              Foote is underappreciated.

                Anybody give a thought to moving Harrison inside? I think it should be a consideration. He is big and strong and can handle the traffic. His running speed seems to be slipping a little and this might be a better place for him at this point in his career.

                Then they could give Worilds the OLB spot. I was encouraged by Worilds performance. If he takes another step, he could turn out pretty well.

                  You have observed what I have observed. Those traits make a poor OLB, and an even worse ILB. He has much improvement to do before seeing significant time from any position.

                    I would rather give Sylvester the opportunity than Worilds. Sylvester has shown flashes of brilliance as opposed to flashes of competance.

                          If I had my choice....our starting 4 LB's next year would be:

                          OLB: Harrison
                          ILB: Timmons
                          ILB: David Hawthorne
                          OLB: Woodley

                          Backups:
                          Worilds
                          Chris Carter
                          Stevenson Sylvester
                          Rookie ILB or Mortty Ivy

                          That would be my own personal choice!!!

                            I like Hawthorne too (nobody knows who he is because no one pays attention to Seattle). Could be an under-the-radar type of signing similar to when we brought in Farrior back in the day.
