Has there ever been a 20+ point spread in the NFL?
Re: Has there ever been a 20+ point spread in the NFL?
To answer you question, Flip, yes there have been a couple of games with a 20 point spread. The largest in NFL history is the defending Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers vs. the expansion Tampa Bay Bucs in 1976. Pittsburgh was favored by 24 points and won the game 42-0.
Re: Has there ever been a 20+ point spread in the NFL?
The spread for Super Bowl III was as high as 19 points and as low as 17.5 points favoring Balitmore, but the Jets won by 9.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

How high did the spreads get during the 2007 Pats' "We're going to prove we weren't cheating by running up the score ridiculously on everybody we play now that we *ahem trust us* destroyed all of the illegal video that we lied about having for the last 8 years" 18 - 1 victory tour? I know there was a solid run of 56 - 10 type scores there, and I also know that bookies don't tend to tolerate losing money gladly... Were there any 20+ spreads there?

They were in the 20's as I remember. It was an amazing stretch of covering ridiculously large spreads for them. If I didn't hate them so much, I probably would've been able to capitalize on their "dominance" (anyone can dominate when you cheat).
