Don't get Chadman wrong- Ben is a great QB- but he could be 'better'. If in 15 years time we say "That Ben Rothlesberger was great, but if he could just have taken advantage of everything given to him..." Chadman suspects we'll all be a little disappointed.
Some or all of this is coaching Third-Person-Man.

BA or hopefully his replacement has to sit Ben down and tell him that there is a whole new universe of football greatness that he ignores, but will now be a much bigger part of Ben's game. In fact, this addition will actually enhance Ben's game as we know it now.

Ben is not the coach, nor is he the one to set the tenor of the team. If he is, our coaching staff is a bust.

      What does Ben ignore exactly?

If anything this season he's being more disciplined in the pocket and making reads.

It needs to be Mendy 75%, Redman 20% and Moore 5%. And if I am looking at a being backed up that close to getting a safety...I would put my biggest back to grind out a couple tough yards...not the smallest. Maybe it's just me.

Yep. I've seen enough of Moore in the backfield. Put Redman in for Mendy.

Do you think that has got something to do with the Oline unable hold on to their blocks? I saw few passes from Ben batted down. I don't have statistics for it maybe its nothing unusual but that was the feeling i got that he is trying to compensate for that. I maybe completely wrong.

Ben has got to convert that 3rd down.

You can't expect a team to convert all the 3rd downs.

Steelers were 11-17 on 3rd down against a Defense ranked better than Steelers. Now i will take 11-17 3rd conversion anytime against 3rd ranked Defense in NFL.

Blame ST for the defeat. Steelers had very bad field position during the entire game.

you can blame our STs but some credit for the field position battle has to go to Steve Weatherford, the NY Jets' punter...he was terrific all game long.

Ben missed an open receiver in the end zone on the last play of the game. He had time to look for open receivers but he was focused on the bunch on the left and middle. Think it was Sanders, but Im not sure, that was open.

Simms thought Spaeth was open on the first play. Then he saw the secondary and flipped his opinion based on the coverage. Sanders was mugged by the defender in the end zone on the last play, he had no shot.

                    Re: My Man Big Ben

Groton, its not Ben's fault that we lost. But the difference between great teams and good teams is knowing when to take the new set of downs over going for it all into excellent coverage. Situation, situation, situation. Ben is literally a few completions away from having this team and his personal game on another level. Better than the rest.

11 of 17 conversion rate is great and I know we can't have em all but when its there YOU TAKE IT. To heck with the stats.

And yes there was somebody open in the back of the endzone on the last play, must have been El or A. Brown. But I can live with that ben was in a difficult situation and any throw would have been difficult.

Spaeth dropped the game winner. It was right in his hands.

Then it was someone else. It was on the right side and he was open. Plus Speath's "game winner" would have been easily out of bounds had the idiot caught it.

We had that guy from Cleveland that played some TE/H-Back for us in 2008. I just can't think of his name. We put him on IR in 2009 because we wanted to keep Johnson. He was pretty good but I can't think of his name.

Yes, thanks PSU. He did a good job blocking out of the backfield and was able to catch the ball. I was surprised we left him go after the job he did in 2008.

and yes, I am off the Matt Spaeth fan club. My pet peeve has always been receivers dropping easily catchable passes and when you violate that 3 times in one game you've used up my grace period.
