    Crash

We didn't have the ball. The Jets had the ball for over 10 minutes in the 3rd quarter.

That was the key to the game, in time, and in field position.
I think the safety was huge. The O line was better but that changed the game.

This is a very interesting thread, because it kind of says more about everyone's attitude as a fan (personally) than it does about the actual events of the game. Some people have a very low tolerance for mistakes. Others accept that mistakes are part of any game and dwell on the overall performance. Others care about highlights and splash plays. Still others only care about the end result (W or L). I'm not judging anyone, I'm just saying it is interesting to read. I personally enjoy watching Steeler football much more when I don't allow myself to get as upset over the mistakes. Sure I could point out a dozen mistakes every game but it doesn't make me feel any better. Overall I'm very happy that we control our destiny for the number two seed with two games left. I guess I could get mad that we're not 14-0 with the best coaching staff in the NFL and the best players at every position, but I'll take what I can get for now. And right now, overall, we're pretty damn good. Our only losses on the year are the: Ravens, Saints, Patriots, and Jets. That's saying something. It's good to be a Steelers fan these days.

we didn't go on a 5 game losing streak like last year. Very good, IF YOU WILL, to be a STEELERS fan

Why do we have to blame someone? The game was there for the taking and this time it didn't work out for the Steelers. They have a game Thursday that can put them in the playoffs and put them in a position to control their destiny for the #2 seed.

No one was out coached, out played or out anything you want to say. The Jets simply won a well played game, it happens.

Everyone relax and come in off the ledge.

If that's the case, how come we lost?

The Jets either out-coached, out-played, or out-somethinged the Steelers (or some combination thereof), or we'd have won this game.
If Ben completes a pass to Spaeth or anyone at the end...Does that change any area during the game we want to being critical of? No it doesn't. Most wouldn't because we got the W. We didn't make a play when we needed to. We gave up the opening KO for a TD. It was the first play of the game...But the Jets did. The Safety...The Jets did. The Steelers overcame all that...But someone needed to make a play at the end. I for one feel more optimistic about the offense after this game than I did last week. Not saying feel good because it is one game...Just more optimistic because it was done against the Jets. The W would have sure tasted a whole lot better...But someone needed to make a play...Nobody did so we lost. In a game like this, it comes down to that.

Offense was niiiice yesterday. I think we are clicking at the right time. Carolina has a decent D so this next game is going to be tougher than most expect.

We had playmakers in street clothes...

The jets needed this game, they pulled out all the stops to get it. We took a more conservative approach and played them to the last 4 seconds of the game. Hats off to them, they gave us their best shot.

We win these next 2 and we wait for them to come back with everything on the line and all our playmakers in uniform.

If they left this game feeling like they are better than us than so be it.. We know how good they play when they are full of themselves.

We didnt hurt ourselves with that loss which was all we could hope for.

I agree that their Special Teams was the tie breaker.

I don't blame the coaches for this one at all. That Sanchez keeper was a great play and I'm more apt to blame Harrison than the coaches. I think he was suppose to have weekside contain and he bit down hard on the run. It happens. It was a great fake. Sanchez spun away from Harrison and their was no way Harrison would be able to see that Sanchez had the ball.

the defense only gave up 13 points. The offense put up 17 points, a 100-yd rusher and 378 total yards against a top 5 defense. Not bad.

But that's what concerns me... not a bad performance and it was still a struggle and they lost. Am I saying they suck and the season is over? Of course not. They are a good team, a playoff caliber team. They have done well so far. But they haven't showed much against other playoff caliber teams that inspires confidence in the playoffs.

17 points with a real good chance for 24 and including 3 drives of 90 plus yards is pretty good. The Jets punter was their MVP yesterday; he dropped three inside the 5 that were downed, that's huge.

if someone told me before the game mendy would have 100 yards on the jets D and ben wouldnt be hit and sacked all that much i would of bet the house on a steelers win. ST's and poor play by the defense is what lost this game.
