but i for one believe that this team is set up to get rolling with two wins against opponents we should beat, then get some more rest and go on a 3 game run for a championship. it can be done.

*i also thought the O-line looked good. heres to chemistry.
I feel OK about the Carolina game but I'm worried about the Browns game. They would love to be a spoiler for us and with no bye we are screwed.

      Re: One and done

I will admit that I'm pessimist about a good post season.

Granted, our O-Line is patch work, we haven't had A. Smith, and last night we were without Troy. But I don't know how much better shape we will be in for the playoffs. Still going to have a patch work O-line (but HOPEFULLY the will improve), not sure if we'll have A. Smith or how healthy Troy will be.

We really haven't done well against playoff caliber teams. If the playoffs started today, we would have a 2-4 record against teams that are making the playoffs (and the two wins were VERY close games). There have also been a few games that we've barely won against sub par teams (Miami, Buffalo).

Steelers are a good team with very good talent that I've been hoping would be starting to hit their stride about now. But I that just hasn't been happening.

Hopefully we can make the most out of the next two tune-up games, get healthy, and pull it all together in time.

But at this point, I'll be very pleased with an AFC appearance from the 2010 Steelers. (yes, that's quite an accomplishment, but most of us have come to expect more than most from this organization).

This is the best that our offense has looked in a long time guys.. No Dancing From Mendy.. Sanders making big play after big play.. Wallace was a true #1.. and of course Ward was Ward.
Against the Jets you have to have good production from your Tight End, We didnt - but Heath is not out for the year, we know this.

The Line was outstanding giving Ben Time on 3rd downs. The Jets are the best 3rd down defensive team in the league and we did a heck of a job picking up the Blitz and giving Ben Time. Our offense was productive.. If you are looking for a Patriots kind of offense then I question what team you have been rooting for for all these years because its not the Steelers.

We played a solid game, we kept the penalities down and we rushed the ball effectively.

IF we continue this we will go into the bye with 4 losses - we'll rest up, get healthy and then run 3 in a row.

So it seems like you are saying that they played about as good of a game as we should expect them to play and still lost.

And yet you expect them to do well in the playoffs?

          Your logic seems somewhat contradictory.

People doom and gloom because it's the easy way to protect their feelings.

I think we played well on O and I think they are going to be OK for the playoffs.

I expect them to be healthy and playing well in the playoffs. Players make plays.

You cant remove a player who is in the running for Defensive player of the year and expect for your defense to make plays.
and who doesnt like our chances with Heath in the back of the End zone Vs Spaeth.
The Jets needed EVERYTHING to go right to beat us last night.

The offense hasn't looked that in rhythm all year and they did it against a very good defense. I'm looking forward to Thursday night's game to see if they can continue the trend (and, hopefully, Essex at LT).
