    Re: One and done

We have to make the playoffs first....

Hopefully by then we'll have Aaron and Troy back which will make a HUGE difference. The offense looked better today, it was special teams that really killed us.

... and we'll have to continue to try to outplay the refs as well. Game-winning touchdown pulled back on a jersey pull - no call.

The possitive from today was that the line played better.

I also liked seeing Sanders making some plays out there.

It's a tough loss, especially after the Rats beat the Saints. But we'll still get to the dance and we still control our destiny for the division.

. just gotta win out the regular season. if we cant deliver on that then we dont belong in the playoffs anyways.
but i for one believe that this team is set up to get rolling with two wins against opponents we should beat, then get some more rest and go on a 3 game run for a championship. it can be done.

*i also thought the O-line looked good. heres to chemistry.

This team will not beat a playoff caliber team.

            You said it....ONE AND DONE.

We will with Troy. Even more so if we get A. Smith too. Here's to hoping the stars line up for us a bit.

Man you would think someone kicked your dog reading some of the comments. If you take a look at the game today you will see that the offense played well, the defense played well and the special teams gave up one splash play and it cost the Steelers.

As a whole the team played well. The offensive line did a good job of run blocking (Mendy with 100), the offense picked up blitzes extremely well, Spaeth played well, Sanders looked good and Ben looked good (would have liked to see his completion up, but he still played good).

The defense held them to 13 points, gave the offense the ball twice in the last 4 minutes and did a good job of not giving up any big plays to Holmes or Edwards without Troy in the lineup.

Relax Frances, Thursday will be here and we get to watch more Steeler football. That's a good thing and there will be at least one playoff game and the atmosphere that goes with that.

                  Re: One and done

Im really tired of people just spewing out loads of doubt and sh!tty predictions after a loss. Ok, we lost to the jets, oh well, take the good , asses the bad and move on because we have a short week . Beat the panthers and then get the W against the browns and we have a #2 seed. I know that is easy said because no team is a give in win, no matter the record. But the steelers are built to win in december and january(Dont forget about february as well ). id rather loose 3-4 games in the regular season and play good after a loss with the adversity then goting 14-2 or 15-1 or even 16-0 and falll flat when it really counts. So heres to the STEELERS kickin the panthers ass's thursday. We controll our own destiny to the bye week and of course the playoffs are where we want to play our best....

I always respect what you say but by the offense playing well comment and only put up 17 points yea they played well but not by a Superbowl winning team standard.

One more play and we'd all be singing their praises instead of burying them. The offensive line played well and that will be important moving forward. The Steelers will need them to perform well in the playoffs.

With Troy,Aron and Heath back in a playoff atmosphere I believe this team can be successful deep into the playoffs. If the play calling and execution exist so do we with a healthier team. Problem is we not only play opponents we also play Godells corrupt field douchebaggery!

Great. Does this mean that you two will stop watching and commenting? It never ceases to amaze me when Steeler's fans whine about a potential playoff team.

Did you guys watch in 2005? We didn't look so good that year either.

Sure, the Jets were struggling. But, that doesn't change the fact that they are a good team. It was a close game in which our defense and offense outplayed their opponents without key players. We lost this game on special teams. It happens. We just won three in a row including one against a playoff team on the road. The Steelers have really only played one atrocious game all year.

Now, I'm not saying this team is a juggernaut, but there are reasons to be excited. Our patchwork o-line just played a fantastic game. Troy and Heath will likely be back for the playoffs. Heck Aaron Smith might play. That is three pro bowlers. Two of which will replace Ryan Mundy and Matt Spaeth.

We may go one and done. And, we may not. Stop whining, we have a good team that still has a good shot at a first round bye. Life is good. Anything is possible.
Even if Bill Belichick was getting an atomic wedgie, his face would look exactly the same.
