The day he retires, the day I will cry.
He has been, is and will be an awesome Steeler.

And sure enough, after the game he's saying "I finally beat Atlanta!"

I guess the moron forgot he beat Atlanta in 1999 on MNF.
Holy crap...Ward actually had 3 catches for 28 yards in that game.

      Good catch Crash!!

Did you get that on your own, or do you congregate at some other site where people are watching Hines Ward...waiting to attack.
lmaooooo - nice, gave me the giggles!

I like Hines - I'll be sad when we don't get to see that smile anymore.

Here's what he tweeted after the game:
Great day! I'm so happy for our team. Dennis played his tail off and Mendenhall ran wild. The whole team played great. Troy pulled a Santonio catch. Great to finally beat the falcons. Out with all my friends and family celebrating. I left everything on the field. We are gonna enjoy this one tonight.

      Today he said...
Today I'm a little sore from the game. But it's good that I'm sore, that means I did something. After watching the film from the ATL game, I realized that I had 2 mental errors. I gotta be there 100% for Dennis. So today, I am working out, getting a massage, and doing my radio show on 102.5 wdve at 7. Plus, watchin Jersey Shore. I gotta get caught up. That's my show. Hines

I really just want to see what Crash will make of all that - slow Wednesday here.

Really, the only thing I don't like about Ward is that he watches Jersey Shore. Ew.

The thing about the other aforementioned 'I' receivers in the league is that they are truly douchebags off the field as well as on it. And, the thing that I love about Hines the least is....well, let me get back to you on that...
DAMN, now I know why I love this smiley so damn much, it's half black, half yellow, and smiles all the damn time, and sells his soul out for the Steelers every weekend... kinda like....

Hines = Hall of Fame. Dude will retire in the top twenty in all time receiving yards, receiving TDs, and top ten or so in receptions. Little known fact, he already has more TD receptions than Michael Irvin (Hines=78 Irvin=65) in the same # of seasons played. Add in the blocking, the physical sacrifice/style of play, 2 Super Bowl Victories and a SP MVP. It just has to be. The Media may hate him, but damn they better respect him.
Even if Bill Belichick was getting an atomic wedgie, his face would look exactly the same.

The media hates Hines? They LOVE Hines.

That's why he never gets called out for the crap he says, nor has his divorce ever been reported by them.

Yeah, please, give me a WR who lacks confidence...that's what every football team needs...

I actually didn't know he was getting divorced until reading this thread. But so what? It's not like getting divorced makes him a sexual deviant or a bad person or anything else - who cares? I'm pretty sure THAT'S why it's not reported, no one gives a ****.

                  Tuesday 09-14-2010 3:27pm ET

After catching six balls for 108 yards Sunday, Hines Ward compared himself to Forrest Gump, adding, "Every year, regardless of what people say, it's my mindset that I have to go out and prove the naysayers wrong."

Naysayers? What naysayers? There are no naysayers. I think Ward is a phony, hypocrite and shameless self-promoter, but I've never disputed his ability or performance. Ward has mostly cheerleaders in this town, and that includes the majority of the football media. If he's not the most popular Steeler, he's close.

I understand the art of self-motivation via constantly putting a chip on your shoulder, but this is gibberish. Ward's favorite mantra is, "Nobody ever gave me a chance." To quote Mike Prisuta of the DVE Morning Show, "Hines Ward got drafted in the third round. THAT'S A CHANCE!"

Furthermore, how on earth is Ward in ANY WAY comparable to Forrest Gump? I just don't get that one AT ALL.

Ward is a lot smarter than Forrest Gump, that's certain. Witness what happened Sunday. When Dennis Dixon started leaving passes short in the game's early going, Ward broke his routes a bit short and came back to the ball HARD. Brilliant.

I love watching Hines Ward play. I just wish he'd stop talking nonsense.

Of course, I'm sure he'd say the same about me. WHAMMY!

YEAH. That's the best way of proving your asinine point (wait asinine isn't a swear word is it?) by quoting Mark Madden. Mark Madden is the biggest joke in "sports media". (though I would argue he is NOT a member of the media, but that's probably a different thread) But that fits... from what I can tell, you are the UNDOUBTED "Mark Madden" of this board.
